Our offensive philosophy, love it or hate it, is centered around the run. It is also centered around the idea that no player is greater than the team, and that everyone must do their part when their number is called.

Our star players are atypically unselfish (Ronnie, Ricky, QBs conceding snaps to Wildcat, etc.).

With all the clamor for a playmaking #1 receiver, I wonder if there is any inherent incompatibility with what we WANT and what we ARE as an offense. Is it really that we want a playmaker...names that have been thrown around such as Boldin, Marshall, Bowe? Or is it just that we simply want a reliable receiver who will make the big play when their number is called (depending on how the game is going), and keep quiet the rest of the time. Not someone who forces our offense to change its philosophy, demands (not explicitly) that the ball come their way, or pouts when they're not a huge part of the gameplan. Someone who just....fits, and does the job Ginn couldn't do.

Maybe what we're asking for is harder to find than we think. Or maybe the front office is making the task harder than it needs to be. Discuss.

The best WR in the NFL, and my favorite player is a role player not a true #1.

Hines Ward is argueably the toughest, most consistant & best WR IMO, not Randy Moss or TO or that guy who plays for the Texans...

I don't want a WR with shiny stats, I want to win in the playoffs. Consistancy & toughness are much more important than stats.

Danny has great stats. Ask him what would he rather have records or rings...

Can a prima donna #1 WR stop the run or cover a TE or RB outof the back field...?

We should sign some more parts as part of our collection of WRs & go heavy on the front sven especially misddle of the front seven on draft day...

And yes V. Jackson would look good in Aqua but would he come? SD has some of its own decisions to make...?

Ginn should not be playing ahead of our core WRs..., unless it's fly routes..., occupying the opposing Defenses secondaries, the odd throw may result in a pick 6 - on second thought let Ginn run but don't throw....

Hines Ward is a great example of a role player #1. And that's exactly my point - a guy like that might be harder to find than the Marshalls, Boldins, Johnsons, Bowes, etc., if that's what the front office is looking for.

Well..., that is no prima donna then..., the guy adds seriously to the teams toughness...
