Our head coach Cam Cameron is going to call the shots on offence this season, he will be the only head coach in the NFL attempting to do so. He has a great defencive coordinator in Dom Capers and Keith Armstrong will do well with Ginn Jr and Worrel on special teams but... Can he run the whole show and concentrate on fixing what needs help the most, our offence?
What do you say Fin Fans?

Other head coaches have called the offensive plays and won Super Bowls doing it. It think Jon Gruden was the last to do it. Cam will call the plays on game day but he's going to have all the offensive coaches in on the game planning. So we will have to wait and see how it turns out.

I know it's been done before. Gruden did it with an inherated team, he left the raiders in a mess on offence and has done nothing with the Bucs since. Is Cam the guy to do it in south Florida?

Joe gibbs always did until last year.

The thing with Gruden is that he prefers veterans to rookies, kinda like the last coach we had here. That Raiders team was led by some aging veterans like Rich Gannon, Charlie Garner and Tim Brown. When he was traded to Tampa Bay, Callahan tried to keep things as is instead of bringing in much needed youth. BTW, the year after Gruden left, Oakland still finish 2nd in scoring offense.

When Gruden joined the Bucs, they were so much in salary cap hell that they are just now getting out of it. It's difficult to bring in the players to fit your system when you cannot pay them fair market value.

I think if he consentrates on the offense and let Dom consentrate on the defense it will be fine. Sometimes a play caller can change the game. Just knowing what works and what doesn't reallly can make the differents between winng and losing. Cam has already shown that he can do it. He did it in San Deigo and was very affective at calling the right plays for Rivers and look how successful he was. Its a wait see thing but I think us fans should give Cam the benefit of the dout until it doesn't work!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I stand corrected on several points! Thanks G.! It makes sense that Cam "purged" to gain cap control, 10 picks in the draft and a proven QB, I just hope he can keep all the balls in the air!

I believe that in the 60's and most of the 70's most of the head coaches called the plays. Remember seeing many games where coaches were sending in players every down with a new play. Thats how it use to be done. So I am pretty sure that todays head coach (Some) could call the plays and still run the team. My Opinion......

Brian Billick also calls the plays at Baltimore, and they were successful last year.

Don't forget Capers is our Assisstant HC.... the highest paid assisstant in the NFL..... Cam will run the offense and for the most part will take the "hands off" approach to the Defense.... it's in good hands anyway. We went after Cam because we had Dom to run the D. With such a coaching staff....... Cam can play his role as Team Leader/ play caller. But to answer your Q....... i have no clue what to expect from Cam.... but my hopes are high. We should average a good amount more points per game..... that's the goal right ?!?!?

I've always liked Cam's play calling, plus I like the accountability factor.
