Expert after so called expert says that our first round selection would be made easier if we had selected Brady Quinn last year. What in the hell has Quinn done that makes him ready to lead a team. The most popular player on any team is the backup Qb. Quinn has not done a darn thing in the Nfl and those of you who know what he will do please send us the crystal ball so that we can make the right selection in the nfl draft!!!!!

I agree 100%. The Browns are so in love with him that they jumped through hoops and bent over backwards to re-sign Derek Anderson. Quinn is, in my opinion, the most over-hyped player in recent memory. I'll admit I was shocked when we didn't take him, but now I'm glad we didn't.

you may think he's the most "over hyped" player of recent memory.. but if we would have taken him last year.. you'd be lovin him and we wouldn't have to worry about wasting another pick this year on ANOTHER qb... quinn would have been our starter for a long time... i dont' care.. quinn will have a better career than beck.. and probably ryan... sorry...

Come on bro.. This comment is just false! Quinn leads the NFL in most commercial appearances and will do many pro bowl commercial appearances and probably is a shoe in to be voted into the pro football commercial hall of fame before his career is over

all i'm saying is .. if we would of drafted quinn last year.. we wouldn't be having any conversations about having to draft another one this year...

how can you say this? What if he had been drafted by us and played the 2nd half of the season and looked worst than beck!!!! see everyone assumes he is this pro bowler in waiting!!!

why was my post moved here when I was talking about the dolphins not drafting quinn and people saying we made a mistake. Why was it moved to general NFL?

i dont' think he would of looked as lost as beck did.. beck didn't look bad at times.. he just looked scared... i know they say he's gotta bulk up this year.. and hopefully he does do that.. he reminded me waaaay too much of ..say.. craig erickson.. and we all know that's not a good thing.. i dunno... when it comes down to it.. i much rather would of had quinn over beck..

Quinn-Ryan......Same thing! The best of the worst.

The bottom line is, if we would have drafted Quinn last year, we would have more of an obligation to give him time to see if he is a "franchise player". Just bc we spent such a high pick, along with a lot of money vested in him. Thats why we would not have even been thinking of drafting a QB early again.

Quinn sat on the bench behind a pro-bowl QB caliber guy. What do you want from him. so saying he didnt do anything doesnt make the fins decision to draft Ginn the "right decision".

They say drafting Quinn would have solved the Fins QB problems. I guess it should have said "delayed" or "potentially solved" your QB problem. Im not completly sold on T. Edwards either, but with him, I know the bills will not draft a QB high in this years draft. I at least know he looks good enough to potentially be our guy. Its clear to me that the fins are not that happy with Beck at this point and are ready to go back to the "searching" phase in the hunt for a starting QB. If the fins had drafted Quinn in the 1st round, even if he played worse than beck, he would still be your guy, if for no other reason than the fact that he was a 1st round QB. Though im sure the size of his contract would also play a part in that.

also, the Browns didnt "bend over backwards" to sign Anderson. I read its basically a 1 year deal that pays anderson some good money. If they like what he does they can sign him to a long term deal and trade Quinn. Or if he plays badly, then they hand it over to Quinn and have Anderson as a backup. It gave them options and was in their best interest. It says more about how they feel about anderson than how they feel about Quinn. Anderson had a great year (best one for the browns in a LONG time), they would be stupid to let him go without knowing what he can consistantly do.

I don't care what anybody says, when we passed on him for Ginn, I know everyone of us was upset. I was super pissed! Then in typical fashion, just because he didn't end up a Dolphin, a lot of people here started bashing Quinn. It's kind of pathetic.

thats not what i saw... i saw a qb that didnt look scared.. it was more like he was running for his life behind our swiss cheese offensive line.. and yes im one of those that believe that Beck will be better or just as good a Quinn.

It doesn't matter if you had drafted Brady Quinn or Ted Ginn Jr or John Beck or Adrian Peterson. It wasn't Parcells draft pick. He's going to do what he wants. If he had felt Quinn was a guy he liked, he'd stick with him regardless. If he didn't, he wouldn't have. Ditto with Beck. Parcells doesn't care if he was the 9th overall pick or a 2nd rounder, it wasn't his draft pick so it's not like he's blowing his own investment. If he felt Quinn would be the answer, he'd play him. If he feels Beck is the answer, he'll play him. He could just very easily say, "Hey, I know he was a high first/second round pick but he wasn't my selection."

In 1992, with the 13th pick, the Patriots selected T Eugene Chung. He played in 1992 under MacPherson, and then in 1993 and 1994 under Parcells before he was sent packing. 13th overall pick, wasn't picked by Parcells, in three years gone (he ended up playing two more season in the NFL). In 1996, with the 1st pick in the second round, the Jets under Kotite selected WR Andy Van Dyke (after taking Keyshawn with the first pick overall). He played 1997 and 1998 under Parcells (catching 8 passes), was sent packing, and two years later was out of the league (kind of a trend, eh?). Bottom line is Parcells frankly doesn't care. It wasn't his pick so there's no need to see it blossom. If it doesn't work out he's not worried about trying to make it work. He's always about win now and worry about the future after he's gone. If he feels Beck is the answer to winning now, he'll give him the shot. If he feels he's not and it's Matt Ryan or Brian Brohm or Chad Henne or Joe Flacco or Chris Simms, he'll do that. One thing Parcells doesn't care about, is fan perception.

Should've selected Patrick Willis at #9 anyways.
