I was thinkin about how Ronnie, Long, Porter, Carp were makin the Pro Bowl.. There'd be a demand to see the Wildcat and I'm sure it would be a fun atmosphere to release it. I'm sure many interested players around the league have already dissected it in film..

So AFC coach should call one play.. Ronnie has option of run/handoff to Chris Johnson or he can pass to Jake Long on the unbalanced line. I believe that since the line formation goes TE-LG-C-RG-RT-LT Jake is elegible if he takes one step back. He'd probably win the battle on that DE/LB, plus i'd love to see jake run in space.. I'm sure he can catch, he's been playin catch for 20 years... So toss him the ball, it would work on 2nd and goal from the 5..

id rather he not.. cuz then some small db will try and take out his knees

on an unbalanced line, hes still not eligible.

i actually think he is elligible, after the immediate 5 linemen on the line (t,g,c,g,t) the next 2 people on the line are eligible which is usually a te, and a wr spread out in regular I-form

wr..................t.g.c.g.t.te......................................
..........................qb.................................wr.........
..........................fb.............................................
..........................rb.............................................

so if u have te,g,c,g,t,t the te acts as LT and the LT (long) as TE, as long as next reciever to his right is off the line

wr.................te.g.c.g.t.T.................................wr...
..............................................................wr.........
...........................rb.fb.........................................

(in this case the te is ineligible, but the tackle (long) is eligible because he is the first man on the line to the right of the immediat 5 lineman) **he must inform the ref he is eligible tho**

i might be wrong but i think that is how it goes

He doesnt line up at TE, he lines up at RT. And no he is not eligible. The TE that lines up in the spot left by the LT shifting over is still eligible however.

i think it depends who is on the line and where, why would the Te on the left be and not the tackle on the right? check my post again tho cuz i editied it..

because thats the whole thing about confusing the defense. why would they run a offensive line of a TE at LT knowing he isnt eligible? they wouldnt. if they were going to run that, they would just bring in another offensive lineman to play TE rather then shifting a tackle over. the biggest part of the unbalanced line is confusion.

i dunno i have to look that up.. when is the tackle eligible then?

when he checks in at TE which would make the actual TE lining up on the left not eligible. which would make no sense. because you wouldnt have an uneligible TE.

...Jumbo Elliot?

He's often compared to him, and Jake Long obviously has the size to make him an effective weapon in a goal line scenario. Screw the pro-bowl, i personally would love to see us get revenge on the Jets by throwing a nice fade pattern to Jake Long for a TD.

ok no no.. i got it figured out..

In an NFL game, the offensive team must have a minimum of seven players on the line of scrimmage for a play. Of these seven, only the two that are on the ends are eligible to catch the ball. Normally one end will be the tight end and the other will be a wide receiver lined up on the line of scrimmage. Other positions eligible to catch a pass are the running backs and the other wide receiver. The quarterback is only eligible to catch a pass when he lines up in the shotgun formation, or well back of the center where he normally takes the snap.

ok so either the te or long can be eligible as long as they are the end players ON the line.. and if long wants to be eligible he must check in because he is between the numbers of 50-79
so in this case...

.......................te, g, c, g, t, long............................wr...........
wr.........................................................wr..........................
...............................rb.fb...................................................

long and the te are both eligible

I've been patiently waiting for sparano to put him in at fullback during short yardage situations, i think it would be a perfect thing to do to keep generating excitement and identity to our fan base and be quite effective.
