How happy is JT with saban's system now? I know Jason has always been a top 10-15 defensive player, but I get the feeling that Saban's system will showcase skills from JT we -- and more importantly, the rest of the NFL -- really haven't seen before. JT looked to me on Saturday, not just an elite D linemen, but the sort of playmaker that is everywhere and can do just about anything -- like Ray Lewis, Derrick Brooks, or a Joey Porter (when healthy).

If he plays all season like he did against the Bucs, yeah. Then again, he probably won't have the luxury of having Anthony Becht let JT move by him like Becht is standing still...and he won't get to go against Anthony Davis every game either.

Against the Jags, Jason Taylor went 1on1 with TE Kyle Brady more than a few times, and Kyle was the one came out on top. So, obviously he could be a little inconsistent.

I think it would be awful hard. He'd have to have a superb year of like 15 plus sacks to be the best defensive player, (are we talking about in the NFL?). Certainly he could be the best defensive player on Miami, maybe a defensive MVP. But i think leaguewise it would be a better shot going to a guy who picks off 8-9 passes in the secondary and returns them for numerous TD's like Ed Reed, or a solid LB who records tons of tackles and still gets sacks, fumbles and interceptions.

I do believe that Taylor will have 15 sacks this year but it's too hard to predict MVP's....What I would rather see is our overall defense leading the NFL in sacks...And I think that's possible with the blitzing schemes we've seen so far from the Phins in pre-season...and bear in mind that we haven't even opened up the playbook yet.

I've saying this for a long time..He will compete for that honor..

JT could end up with 12 sacks and 5 Int's! HAHAHA!

If you guys win more than you lose, JT will push 20 sacks, but if you lose more than you win, he will have a hard time hitting 10.

If teams arent passing because they are winning, his sacks will drop.

IMO, Peppers or Freeney's name is already on the DMVP.

Heck yeah JT can do it.

He has all the skills and our defense is solid up front.

Well he definitely can! He almost did it once (should have won IMO), and that was all from the same spot on the field. If he becomes the type of player in Saban's system that Julian Peterson was, he will have some monster stats.
