I know the Dolphins are looking for a safety, and I've heard a rumor that they like Derrick Strait, though I think it should be assumed that they like him as a corner, his position in college. I'm wondering, putting two and two together, if Strait could also project as a safety?

Strait probably lacks the size to be a safety, and to be quite honest, it would be a shame to move a player with such natural cover skills from cornerback to safety.

One thing about the Dolphins philosophy on defense is that they want cornerback type coverage skills at their safety position. Dating back to when Jimmy was doing the drafting for the Cowboys, both Darren Woodson and Brock Marion were corners in college. Woodson was a big corner, but he was a corner none-the-less.
