Since some in a previous thread think, such questions are absolutely illegal. I found a previous article that says such questions are based by STATE law.

Personally, I don't like social justice matters being handled in sports, much less the military. But I stand firmly with the right of ANY employer to know and ask questions of possible hires.

Federal law prevents you from asking prospective employees about sexual history or orientation.

No...they cant ask

You might have your own opinion of how things should be done, but in actual practice, you'd be setting yourself up for a hell of a law suit. It's risky to even ask if someone has kids or not.

Employers need to ask questions relevant to the JOB. If the person your going to hire can do the JOB at hand, and after doing a background check on things such as criminal background, credit and/or employment background and it all comes up clean and good, then what they do, who they do it with, how many kids they have or what TV shows they like to watch after work hours is NONE of your concern.

You can't ask about sexuality, pregnancy, or any of that stuff anywhere.
It's not just the military.

Yea but it used to be different in military. They usually dont ask the questions anyway they just check your background

You want a homosexual eyeballing you in the lockeroom? It is a legitimate question for sports imho!

Remember what the doormouse said, feed your head!

So what's next, do you need to ask reporters about their sexual preference before they can enter the locker room?
