We are all lamenting over the loss of RB.
For the record, I think RB is one of the top 5 pure running backs in the NFL today. Controversial, I know.
What is suspect, is does the Trifecta believe this given all the trade rumors we've heard i.e. Brown for Edwards etc.
Regardless, IMO, I believe tonights game will be more about our Defense than our running game. In fact, I believe on Offense it will be more about our passing game than our running game.
We know Carolina will put 8-9 in the box and take the running game away, at least when the know Fins will attempt a running play.
The question is can we do that to them?
These two teams are in similar shape. Two runners in the stable, each team has one runner either out or hurt. Carolina has shifted their O line for this game with the loss of their star Guard.
Both teams seem gimpy now in their bread and butter running game, theoretically.
Who has the better D? Which D can create field position and turnovers?
Who has the better ST? Kicking game? Return game? Intangibles?
Both teams will try to run the ball, and both teams will have relative success.
What about the other phases of the game?
I believe this one should be won by the Defense. A score, key turnover, change of momentum....something large has to happen to break the stalemate of our respective running games.
A defensive game tonight with very conservative offenses on both sides is in order.
