Can Pennington return to form?

I hope he can reveve his career away from NY. I honestly hope he does. He was a great player. It doesnt look likely though.

No. Period. End of thread.

I'm pretty well certain it's only moderators who can end threads, not people who have nothing to add to the discussion.

I think Miami would theoretically have interest in Pennington. They have shown interest in Tim Couch, which is a similiar type deal. Couch was injured, and doesnt really fit Miami's system, but he can be a quality backup type and if he's got upside he can be turned into some sort of draft picks.

If Pennington really becomes a Tim Couch type situation like PFT brought up, I think Miami could be interested. But that's going to take Pennington's injury being bad enough that teams arent interested in him as a start this season, which I dont know will happen.

Pennington probably is done being able to throw the long ball or throw it with any zip. Maybe they will draft Cutler now?

I agree about Moderators being the only members that can end a thread, but I would also add, that this tread should be in the AFC East forum and not the general forum.

I think he can be a good NFL QB, we'll see. If we do cut him(I don't think it will happen as I think he'll agree to restructure) a team w/ a solid QB situation for this year would be wise to scoop him up and allow him to be ready for '07 and I think he'll be ok by then if not sooner.

someone made the comment that if cut he would likely sit out a year, rehab and sign on somewhere the following year. I don't think he's done IF his shoulder can rebound. A full year off with no-one beating on him might work wonders.

What do you think?

that's why I think he'd be a great signing this year for a team that has an older QB or a QB that won't be around in '07, he could absorb the system and not play until '07 strengthening his shoulder. I still expect him to restructure and another QB brought in as vet insurance so hopefully he stays.

Miami should pounce on him if he becomes available, they can go w/ Gus another year themn have Chad ready when you should be good enough to make a deep run in '07.
