We saw today what happens when the run game and Wildcat are shut down. We were fortunate that special teams (Ginn) stepped up and that the defense produced a touchdown. Obviously we cannot expect 21 non-offensive points a game - it is an anomaly.

So the question is, how will our offense do against the Patriots? Can R&R run wild, milk the clock, and score points? The Saints and moreso the Jets were both aggressive against the run and basically hit our o-line in the mouth. Do the Pats have the personnel to do it too? They're ranked 15th against the run, giving up a buck ten per game on the ground.

After a tough day against the Jets, R&R need to have a huge game against the Pats. A win against the Pats would almost guarantee the best division record (Bills will be tough in Orchard Park), and the Pats still have games against the Colts and Saints.

I'm psyched about today's win, but already looking forward to the Pats. I'm not sure how I'll sleep this week.

I hope so...It was really rough to see our runners struggle today. Night and Day compared to what we've seen this year. Hopefully the Wildcat and R & R get back on track in a much needed game against the Pats.

yes..we should be able to run on the pats

The Pats should be able to slow down the wildcat, but i expect they'll still give up plenty of yardage, if not scores.

BB's had an offseason and now a bye week to study & plan for what the fins have been doing this year. Henne is the wild card in the equation.

I expect them to emulate a lot of what the Saints did, and to be aggressive on defense. Henne will have his work cut out for him.

I agree, this is going to ride on Henne....thank god there is nobody like Revis in your secondary....I'm thinking it should be a pretty good game.

Are you guys still running a 4-3 this year? I know earlier this year you guys had been.

I don't think the Pats D is anywhere as good vs the run as the Jets/NO are. I think we will be able to run for at least the 1st half of the game, and then they will make adjustments that will contain it. So it will come down to Henne to win this.

R&R will not run anywhere unless we can get a passing game going early. Look for the Pats to do the same thing the jets did to us. Please Henning call some decent plays so we can get the air game going.

We should be able to move the ball pretty easily on them, which every way we choose. WildCat, straight running or even passing. However i do not know what our answer is going to be for Tom Brady, Randy Moss and Wes Welker. In all honestly we didn't play all that well yesterday, if it weren't for the Jets own futility we would have lost. Their defense pretty much dominated our offense, and our defense was nothing special against them. The Patriots aren't going to make the makes the Jets made. It's going to be a REALLY tough game.

Pats have actually been pretty stout against the run. A lot of the yards they've given up have been junk yards in the 2nd half.

The one thing that concerns me is 2nd half adjustments, especially on offense. The new acting OC hasn't been very good at that so far.

Pats secondary is a lot better than the past couple years, and the D as a whole is MUCH faster than it was.

Pretty confident considering our impressive 52 yards rushing yesterday or was it the passing game of Henne with his 12-21 with 112 yards "almost" Marino like.:err:

Maybe it was Hennes other impressive performances
10-19 with 92 yards or
14-22 with 115 yards

Ronnie Brown has had 2 bad games in a row
with 27 yards rushing versus the Jets
and 48 yards rushing versus the saints

We are playing a team that allows 14 points per game #3 in the NFL SO TO THINK WE WILL JUST HAVE AN EASY TIME
IS JUST ABSURD.

And I didn't even discuss how our defense gives up so many huge plays while Brady is known to pick apart week passing defenses. This worries more than even the offense.

Will we allow Brady to sit back and pick us apart with NO pass rush???

Can we win...of course but it's going to take a much better performance than we had against the Jet's

To be fair, in 14 career games against the Dolphins, Brady has only had one game in which he put up huge numbers. Most of the time, we've kept him in check.
Although it must be stated that Brady's only played two games against us since getting his receivers, and one was the great game and the other was in horrible weather, he still has historically struggled against us.

If we can stay away from 3rd and long the Wildcat will work. The Pats have given up some big yards on runs this season against, IMO, inferior running attacks.

In 6 out of 7 games the Pats have given up 90+yds rushing. The Dolphins have given up 90+yds only 3 times out of our 7 games. However, the Dolphins gave up 2 90yd+ rushing games to the number one rushing offense in the league. The Jets.

Now, again, if we can stay out of 3rd and long the Wildcat has a very good chance of working.

What we really need, however, is for our WR's to man up, get open and CATCH the damn ball!!! If Ginn can get behind their Defense a couple of times they will have to start playing back and that will open up our running game.
