Just wanted to get some opinions on anybody who watched ronnie in college ive seen a few of his highlights but can this guy keep ricky williams on the bench.

Why do we want him on the bench? We can be a dangerous team if we put them both on the field at the same time.

thats very true and i bet saban is just licking his chops of the thought of having both of them in the same backfield. :D

I agree, the dolphins could use Brown at RB, and Williams at FB, then on 3rd down ricky as a 3rd down back and Evans or somebody else at FB, man I should be the next GM for the Dolphins

i'm gonna beeotch slap saban and linehan the first time i see ronnie brown laying a lead block on a line backer. you don't do that with your franchise feature back. so my point is that IF ronnie and ricky are in the backfield at the same time, its not going to be a run between the tackles or to the weak side. alot of people think that putting them in the backfield at the same time presents so many options and threats, but if this philosophy is so true then why aren't there any other nfl teams putting 2 feature backs in the same backfield at the same time? there are so many reasons...

Ronnie won't be the FB. He can be motioned to play slot WR. There's so many possibilities with them two in the backfield that no team will be able to defend against them. How many other teams have two feature backs like Ronnie and Ricky?

my point is that if this has the potential to be such a productive offense with two of those caliber backs in the sameback field, why has it not been pursued by any other nfl teams in recent memory. last year the bills had henry and mcgahee and though travis was hurt for a while, how many times did we see both of them in the backfield at the same time? i hear all about motioning ronnie to the slot. ok, so don't you think opposing defensive coordinators would expect the same thing, and have a game plan devised for it? you need a base offense, or a "system" that you can plug guys into and keep it going if someone gets hurt or retires. didn't we learn anything last year? what happens if the ricky/ronnie combo is a key part of the offense and one of them gets hurt (or retires)? linehan is a 1 back coordinator, and i would expect him to stick with his system. sure, a play here or there you might see both ricky and ronning in the backfield at the same time, but by no means will it be a staple of the offense.

Saban has spoke on many occasions about Ronnie playing with another feature back. It's always brought up when they talk about Ricky. Why would Saban keep bringing that up? No where have I said it would be a staple of the offense or even be a key part of the offense.

Who cares if another team hasn't done it? Why are we always worried about other teams? Let's come up with our own gameplan. Something that no other teams will expect. We will run more than just a few plays with them in the same backfield but they won't be in the backfield together for the whole game.

Buffalo did.

And last I checked Ricky is not a Miami Dolphin atm, his contract is owned by the fish, but he is not one. If he wants more then league minimum or gets awarded more, I would cut him so fast.

Henry and McGahee can't catch the ball quite like Ronnie can. Ronnie can play WR. He's not a Dolphin because he can't be until July.

He still has a contract to work out before he gets back, it seems he thinks he is worth more then the NFL min. There is more then just the July factor in this. Could just be his agent, or it could be Ricky pushing for more.

It's actually Jason Cole who brought it up. He made something out of nothing. The only thing his agent has said is he doesn't see Ricky playing for the minimum. As an agent you want a player getting as much money as possible so you get a bigger cut. IMO, I don't think there will be a contract problem.

Oh I know the agents get payed a % of what the players contract is. Ricky is still only worth the NFL min.
