Can somebody please tell me if there was any open receivers on the final drive?

YES, I have watched that final play over and over again and brandon marshall is open for a split second and that was enough time to get him the ball, watch the play again slowly, marshall plants his foot and makes his break and right when he turns around there is a window there to get him the ball, if henne would have anticipated the throw and route better and threw it before marshall was even turned around then the ball would have arrived with perfect timing right when marshall turned around, instead henne severely overthrows him and the ball gets picked game over, just another example of why henne is improved yes, but a franchise clutch qb? no he is not and never will be!

At every game for every team on every play there is a guy open for a split second.

Use your head man.

Just because you saw Marshall open for a split second doesn't mean that at that exact same split second Henne looking at Marshall.

He may have been looking at Bess or Hartline or Bush or the giant LB coming his way.

What you see on TV, when you hit pause and examine the position of every player on the field isn't the same as what the QB sees and is dealing with in the pocket.

And I don't wanna hear any of the Elite QB's make those plays BS because those guys miss open receivers all the time. Watch any game of any elite QB and you'll see it.

I was at the game, Henne had 2 seconds to get rid of the ball on those four plays. Even then, he was not clear to throw the ball cleanly

he was staring marshall down the whole time, there was a window to get the ball to him and he couldn't do it, instead he dramatically overthrew him, if henne wants to be clutch and become the franchise qb then he HAS TO MAKE THIS THROW, it's that simple!!

Im sorry but this is a ****ty post. Henne has running for his life back there. I was at the game, first pass was terrible playcall, but no one else was open (TE stayin in max protect bc our ****ing coaches are clowns and signed the worst RT in the league). He threw a great fade just OB. He was hit on the throw to bess over the middle. Last play he has about 2 seconds and threw to his biggest most consistant receiver. Same WR that dropped another TD pass earlier in the game and gave up on a few comeback routes.

well marshall is not 7"2 he did not need to overthrow him that bad marshall was open if henne would have anticipated it better

Watch another football team....look at the time Sanchez, Fitz, Brady have to throw the ball. When you have 2 seconds, youve been sacked 5 times, just got hit on 3rd down....every QB would lock on, simply to give SOMEONE a chance to make a spectaular play

haha r u kidding me!? i just watched it again, henne has a very comfortable pocket with about 4 seconds to throw and he is staring marshall down the whole time, he steps up overthrows him big time, if he would have anticipated marshalls break and thrown it in time this would have been a first down!!! watch the film bro here is the link!

Don't know what internal clock you're running buddy but that wasn't 4 seconds, that was 2 seconds with the guy that just raped Colombo breathing down Henne's neck. I agree with everything else.

The pass to Gates was just a little off or we would not be having this discussion.
Nice catch by Gates just out of bounds.

I painfully watched this video...Boy do we stink. Its everything from S Smith being unable to cover a WR from your local flag league to a offense that attempts Fg's like they are the biggest prize in football.

I wish I could get that minute of my life back...

It was a bad throw I hear ya, but if he would have held it for 3 seconds he was going to sacked for a 6th time. Im not making excuses for Henne, he had a great first half, and tapered off big time in the 2nd. However, you cant ignore his protection was non existant, and he was knocked all over. That affects a QB greatly as the game goes on.

Henne had no confidence in himself and the coaches had no confidence in him on Miami's last two drives. I knew we'd lose if we scored a FG and that's what they played for. The play calling on the last drive was horrible and Henne did nothing to change it. There were no battles won on the OL including Long who has regressed terribly. It was just two bad irrelevent teams playing and it so happened that Cleavland was the better of the two awful teams.

I thought the play calling on the last drive was bad. It reminded me a lot of our red zone (or red area as genius Sparano calls it) play calls. If it's me, I run on 1st or 2nd down to try to get at least 4-5 yards which gives Carpenter a chance if nothing else happens. I also work in 1 play (probably 1st down) to try to hit Bush in the flat or some kind of bubble screen and let him create. I believe you have to run on one of the first 2 downs in that situation, just in case you have an incomplete pass or 2. Even if you only get 4 yards, you give Carpenter a 58-59 yard try... and how many times do you see the draw play get 10+ in that situation. I just get so sick and tired of what I consider to be terrible offensive play calls. BTW, major props for the play we ran for our on TD. That was the most interesting, creative play we've run in 4 years. You'd think we could run a play like that when we absoutely need 10 yards to secure a win. But instead we try getting 15-20 yard chunks. Dumb.

Henne just sucks, and the coaching sucks. 1 timeout, 40+ secs left, good field position, only need 10-15 yds for a FG and Henne fails to move the team a millimeter. I still can't figure out why there were no runs.
