Can somebody please tell me if there was any open receivers on the final drive?

Henne is no Luck, that's for damn sure.

From sad and bitter experience during the Dick Jauron era, if WRs are continually NOT getting open, it's the HC/OC's fault for not designing better plays. Now, in a particular game, the receivers can have trouble getting open against stout Ds, but if it's happening in game after game, that says the problem is a crappy offensive scheme and not with the receivers themselves.

Obviously, if the defense is putting 6 DBs out on the field, the offense needs to have plays that use more than two receivers and a TE or RB as a checkdown. Otherwise, everybody gets double-covered. Play-not-to-lose-by-too-much coaches do NOT seem to comprehend that.

OTOH, if WRs are open repeatedly and the QB goes to the double-covered guy or his checkdown, then that's on the QB.

nice post! i agree. cleveland played good defense all day. they could put heat on henne with 4 guys.

BTW, I work in Jamestown about once in two months. nice town!

Henne is no Luck, that's for damn sure.

Considering Luck has yet to do anything in the NFL, I don't know if that is a good thing or bad.

Yes unlike all the other can't miss QBs, this guy is very well prepared, and has all the talent in the world, but that does not make Luck an automatic homerun for the team that picks him....history has already proven that time and time again.

If those throws to Bess had been accurate they would have been catches. There was pressure, but the truth of the matter is that Henne was off target with all 4 throws that drive. If you can't throw a catchable ball it makes whether or not the receiver is covered kind of irrelevant.

You must just be a Henne hater because Bess himself said that he ran a lazy route and the corner guessed the route and was all over him. he also said that the second play he was open but henne got pressured and was hit on the throw making it off target. So... if the receiver himself is telling us that why would you blame Henne? Marshall wasn't open on the crossing route and Gates ran out of bounds. IJS Call it like it is bro!

The fact of the matter is henne didn't get it done! playcalling or not if he sees something in his pre-snap read then he needs to audible into something he thinks can get us in FG range, the coaching staff gave him free reigns to audible whenever he wants, when your a leader of a team you get in that damn huddle and you take control and look everybody in the eye and say were gonna win this damn football game! look at the WR's and say beat your man I'll find you! Look at the OL and say give me time and I'm gonna win this ball game! this was the same scenario last year against pitt, and detroit in the 4th qrt, henne could not get it done and threw a pick to end the game, he has his chance to do something clutch for this team and once again he failed, 50yd line, 1 timeout and all he needed was 15yds and he couldnt get it done, hell screw daboll, If I'm a franchise qb I get in that huddle and call my own plays, im sure manning, brady, brees, rodgers, rivers, all get in the huddle in a moment like that and have a feel for what they wanna do, henne should of stepped up became a leader and won that damn ball game and he didn't!

Dude are you kidding me? How do you know he didn't say those things in the huddle? As a matter of fact I'd be willing to bet that they all said something similar to that, problem is they didn't get it done. None of them. Not the QB, not the WR, now the Oline Not the RB nobody. I didn't see Henne overthrow or underthrow any "OPEN" receivers so I'm not going to blame him. If he had, i'm sure the commentators would have pointed that out.
