It wasn't a pretty win but it's a win on the road verse a team with nothing to lose that has been playing better each of the last 3 weeks. He talks about how great the D was & how was lousy the O was, DID HE WATCH the 1st half???? I love this team but the D struggled stopping Denard Robinson & WR were open all over the field if it wasn't for the Delmas INT the D could NOT get off the field. The O had no rhythm at all in large part b/c of Colledge. If not for the tipped pass its 31-13. The team came together & after halftime when we needed to make plays we did. Where's the LOVE for Tannehills pass to Wallace on the run & what catch after bashing him for months on the deep ball??!!! Look again I recognize not the best win but it's a WIN let's enjoy it & move on the Chargers.

I agree with him, the way we played yesterday,on both sides of the ball- virtually every other team would beat us.

Nothing wrong with that column at all. Armando is spot on.

One of the few times we won, that I did not feel like celebrating.

Mando is spot on here. Miami won, but if not for playing a rookie QB that is struggling to adjust they would have lost. Miami struggles against teams with good D lines. Looking at the rest of the schedule I think at best there is four wins.

The team needs to get better and the sound bytes from the locker room show me that team knows that.

I mentioned before the game on one of the many prediction threads exactly what I thought would happen.

I am glad we won "ugly"! How many other years would we have found a new ay to lose? How often were we the team that played OK, of had more yards, or more TOP. I want to see us win when struggling. How many games had New England or Pittsburg won over the years, when you find yourself thinking "They did not deserve a win there"

Maybe it is just me, but at no poibnt did I feel this game was in jeopardy during the game.
In order to win 10 games you have to win some when you don't play well.
I get we have to play better against better teams. I would much rather win like that than lose with the offense rolling like against Green Bay.
Win the damn game, that's all I want to see.

Each team each game is different. You can't say if we were playing a different team we would have lost. Different team, different game plans by both teams, different players with different strengths and weaknesses. Maybe the philosophy on defense was to force Broyles to throw and make mistakes by disguising coverages and blitzes maybe that game plan opened up some running lanes, maybe not having Misi in contributed to their early success in the running game. Who knows, the bottom line is We went into the game knowing they had a young QB and Young WR and we forced them into Turnovers AND POINTS!! That tells me that we recognized a weakness and game planned affectively to attack it and we were successful. That hasn't been the case in the past. Every GOOD team has games like this but the GOOD teams find ways to Win despite of playing poorly. We won, which tells me we're headed in the right direction. In years past we would have found as way to lose the game.

I'm sure the Steelers probably feel the same way after escaping with a 17-9 win a few of weeks ago against the Jags. Problem is you can't take performance A and apply it to team B and say we would have lost or won the game. Each week in the NFL is it's own entity. Steelers could have said they barely beat a bad Jags team 17-9 but then how did they put up 51 points against a pretty legit Colts team this past weekend?

I knew this was going to be a tough game, even said in the prediction thread I expected us to win 24-13 and it would be tough. Offense was bad in the first half with 2 three-and-outs on their first three possessions but we also only had 4 possessions the entire first half. The pick-6's are great but the offense doesn't take over after the defense scores...the defense goes right back out on the field and people forget that's a lost possession for the offense. Don't get me wrong...I'll take a defensive score any day of the week but keep it in perspective. Not to mention the defense allowed conversions of 3rd and 8, 3rd and 14, 3rd and 8, and 3rd and 7. They also gave up two 4th down conversions...one after a stop on 3rd and 7 where Dion Jordan gets an offsides penalty in punt formation and allows the Jags to go for it on 4th and 2 and they make it.

Does Pittsburgh's 17-9 over the Jags not count? I find it strange to sort of criticize the win if you're a Dolphins fan/writer. Miami for a decade has been average so who are we to be displeased over a victory that wasn't an A+?

This game is a sign that things are better than we think. Good teams win games in a variety of ways, they do what they need to do to win. Offense not doing well? Defense or ST need to step up, which is what happened. No, we didn't shut down the Jags run game, but causing turnovers is how you give your O more chances, scoring is a bonus. Notice the Fields figured something out as well. 4 solid punts helped with the field position battle.

Not every game will be Miss America pretty, take the ugly win and get ready for next week.

Bingo. I'm disappointed with how we came out, but each week is a different animal. And the Jags are slowly becoming more competent. Remember we destroyed the Raiders and then the Chargers barely won their game against Oakland. Does it mean anything? Nope.

And let's give credit where credit is due, while Bortles was bad, Delmas's pick 6 atleast was a great veteran play where he read what Bortles was doing and dropped off his man. In the past we don't make that play, or Grimes's pick 6, or Jenkins's forced fumble.

This is the way I see it as well. No matter how we beat Jax it would not be a predictor for our next game or two, even if we beat them 100-3 it wouldn't make the Chargers game any easier. I'm glad the offense played bad and realizes they need to step it up. I'm glad the defense gave up a bunch of rushing yards and that garbage TD at the end. Those are things we can now focus on this week, and if we get them sorted it will help against the Chargers.

It's an ugly win, no question, but I think people are not giving enough credit to how well the Jag's Defense has played in October

-Against Pitt # 4 passing offense, # 9 rushing offense. Defense held them to 10 points (one TD was a pick 6).
-Tenn held to 16 points
-Cleveland # 18 passing offense, # 12 rushing offense. Defense held them to 6 points.

When you add the fact that Bortles threw 6 picks in those 3 games, yet the defense held those teams to a combined 32 points...that's pretty impressive.
