Can Taylor Lead The League In Sacks?

He will be up there if this plan to use him more works.

He also needs the rest of the DL to step it up, if they don't teams will still double or triple him up, making him ineffective.

half the time hes gonna be standing. How do u double him then?

I'd throw Peppers in there too.

There is no reason for J.Taylor not to be in the top 5 for sacks this year

NFC

- Sorry , I was looking at Pro Bowl comments.

I was reading it as he meant the NFL not just the AFC. .... IMO

Thanks, I was caught up in the Pro Bowl discussions. Peppers is a force , but with Roth , Taylor can be right there with him.

I think the plan to use him in more versatile ways may limit his sacks some. In the past JT rushed on every play, now he'll spend some time dropping into coverage. Fewer opportunities may yield fewer sacks. I do expect that JT will have more turnovers created/recovered and that he'll be an overall more productive player, but I don't think his sack numbers will lead the league. I do expect him to be in the top 5 though.

My thoughts exactly. They are putting him in position to 'make more plays' not necessarily rush the passer more. I dont expect him to put up the sack numbers he has in the past considering the numerous positions he'll be playing this year. But when you think about the pass rushing threats we've acquired this offseason (Carter, Holliday, Roth), its pretty safe to assume he'll have an easier time getting to the QB when he's on the front line.

yes yes yes cause he know has a line behind him that can back him up and can have the quarterback worring

Well I Really Think Given All The Extra Ways That They Are Using Him This Guy Will Be More Of A Terror Than He Was Already.man I Was Really Happy That Saban Decided To Keep Him Causae Jt Is The Man And He Will Lead The League In Sacks This Year.
I'm not sure if that versatility will increase or hinder his sack total.....but I do think that if Matt Roth or whomever else plays on the other side (When Jason lines up as a DE) can take some of the pressure off of Jason, then look out!

Simeon Rice says he wants to break Strahan's single-season sack record this year. I think I read it on Yahoo! sports.

Im sure every top DE wants to break the record. Unfortunately, talk is cheap and considering Rice's career high is 16.5 and the record is 22.5....he still has to prove he's capable.

A good sleeper to win the AFC sack crown is Carlos Hall from the Chiefs

Considering how they are lining him up all over the place I have to agree with Raf and MadLib that he will be much more productive. But all these additional turnovers and tackles he'll be picking up, IMO will yield the same or maybe even fewer sacks than last year.
I'm just plain stoked about this years defense, it looks to be pretty exciting regardless of how much our offense improves.
