Can the dolphins reach the playoffs this season ?

I don't follow football closely as of late,so I really dont know what players the dolphins team have gotten or released this offseason.so please correct me if Iam wrong about any statements.After watching last year's dolphin team chances are maybe not so good to make the playoffs this season but in the weak afc east there is only one team that is great which of course is the patriots but the jets and bills are complete garbage in my eyes and with a couple of moves here and there the dolphins can go from being a joke to being a contender in no time.What the dolphins team needs is a good qb because john beck is a kid and not nfl ready player not even a back up material,also cleo lemon I thought we should have kept him as a backup qb but now after developing him soo long the jags got him that was a huge mistake,we also need lots of new players on the d line because this team has no d what so ever,wr's is a must because marty booker and chambers were a complete joke when they played last season and last but not least built a good offensive line that will start by getting jake long which is a great decision by bp.
 
If all the pieces fall into place, yes they can.. If they dont, no they cant

Last time I checked we have the same record as everyone else.

I knew this was coming. The short answer would be no. I think this is a smokescreen post.
 
You never say never....there are worst to first teams in the NFL every year.

We're in a really tough division though, so unless Beck develops into the 2nd coming of Marino this year it's not likely.

actually there are only three games on our schedule that I dont see us being competitive in, and even those three you never know.

Im not saying we will win the following games, but we should be competitive in the following matchups,

NYJ
@ARZ
@HOUS
BAL
BUL
@DEN
SEA
OAK
@NYJ
@BUF
@KC
@STL
SANFRAN

Dont see us matching up well in both games agaisnt NE and home to sandiego, however, san Diego will be traveling from west coast.

We should win 5-7 games...

I really hate the dolphins keeping Beck as a qb this guy has not shown any type of sign that he deserves any type of chance of being developed,oh and this guy is not even in the same planet in talent as Dan Marino.
 
It is a long shot, but there is a chance. We need to do well in the following areas to win a lot of games:
  1. The new defensive front seven has to shut down the opponents running game. This means that Jason Ferguson, Reggie Torbor, and Channing Crowder need to play very well to shut down the middle. I am confident that Jason and Joey P. will shutdown the outside behind Vonnie and Rod Wright.
  2. The offensive line needs to perform well as a unit. I have not doubt that Jake Long, Vernon Carey, Samson Satele, and Justin Smiley will perform well individually.
  3. Ernest Wilford is going to be a machine as a possession receiver, but Ted Ginn must step up big time: delivering the big plays, executing run blocking consistently, and catching four to six balls a game.
  4. Special teams needs to perform good enough to be in the top 15 in the league.
If the Dolphins can succeed in those four areas, then we will have a chance.
 
Cmon guys! Thank God the Dolphins players and coaches don't share the same view as you. I say OF COURSE we can make the playoffs! Why the hell not?! Last year was a freak of nature. With a little luck and some solid play we can absolutely be in the playoffs. Crazier things have happenned. Heck, I'm a fan, which is short for fanatic. I truly believe we can go all the way. we CAN. Chances are better that we will not make the playoffs but I still say it's a possibility. And after we get into the playoffs then anything can happen. Other than the evil Pats and the Colts, who in the AFC is so much better bthan us? Believe,you gota believe. As far as I'm concerned, we're going all the way to the superbowl!!!! Yeeeeeeeeeah baby!!!!

also, keep in mind, if I'm not mistaken. The Jets went from 1-15 to 9-7. The year they went 9-7 they were one game away from making the playoffs but lost in the last game in a nail biter to the Lions. You never know guys. If you are absolutely convinced that the Fins won't make the playoffs then why even watch them? You're either a fan or a an analyst. A fan believes but an analyst doesn't.
