Turley is supposed to be about the 260lbs weight which is ideal for a blocking TE. Im just wondering where did Turley get his receiving skills? Other question i have to ask is will his back injury hold up?
He hasnt played for 2 yrs which isnt that bad considering he has lost so much weight to protect his injury. He would be an ideal TE in a 2 TE set. He already has the technique and know-how to play the position regarding blocking. Can he catch and learn the position?
The guy is serious about his health and playing condition because he's thrown himself at a different position to get himself back in the NFL. Could Turley be the next come-back story?

I sure hope so, he would be a great addition to our blocking scheme. He was/is also one of the fastest lineman I have watched... Dropping 60 pounds, if his back can hold up, I think he will do great as a blocking tight end and maybe even a red zone option. I dont think we have to worry about him getting in a yelling match with Nick Saban, I am pretty sure I know who will win!

this is very interesting, i wouldn't mind an ex lineman to play tight end in blocking senerios. even if he can't catch well, he may be very useful in jumbo sets where we'd utilize two big blocking tight ends.

I doubt he is our second TE because we signed Justin Peele from San Diego to a 3 yr deal, but Turley could hang on as the third TE...no telling what happens though all depends on how they perform in camp

IT would be nice to have such a tenacious blocker as our second TE. But he has a lot of competition. He also has wear and tear that the coaches will have to weigh in.

It seems as though he's lost weight so maybe he'll be more nimble and less of an injury concern. Maybe he won't be a second tight end, but he could certainly be useful in blocking schemes.

Yah what he said. Justin Peelle is 6'4", 255, and versatile - good run blocker, good hands, and can play special teams duty as well. Also remember Peelle is Harrington's friend an ex-Duck - big reason why Joey will be a Dolphin soon. All part of Nick's master plan ...:cooldude:

It's tough when plans are set - then a guy like Turley comes down the pike. Invite him to Camp? Will his injured back hold out. Is he fast enough down sizing from a 300 lb frame.

Peelle

I hope they sign him so we can find out.Intriguing prospect.

He played both ways in High School. DE / TE.

Our scouts checked on his pass receiving skills before inviting him.
Its been 21 months since his back injury and he has worked very hard to lose weight and get into shape. He has the dersire to make a comeback albeit at a different position.

He wil have to beat out Justin Peele which will not be an easy task.

Turley ripped of the helmet of a Jets player, he's a perfect fit for this team.

And threw it 40 yrds downfield.

damn!!! maybe he can be our 3rd string QB as well. Gets my vote just for chucking Jets helmet! Have to ask, was there a head in it at the time?

Yes there was but a very small one and the Jet player didnt notice it was missing anyway.

Even though its funny in retrospect, he cost his team the game that they had a chance to win, which also cost them the playoffs. Hopefully he will not repeat that if he makes the team.

It was that one Jet who had the assault rifle charges against him. I forgot who it was but I know Turley did it because he took a cheap shot to Aaron Brooks.
