Here's a look at what all teams spent on their OL's last year. The top 5 paid $24-26M on all 9 players. Miami spent $14.6M (#27).

This year, we have Albert at $10.7M, Pouncey at $77M, and James at $2M. That's $20M for 3 of 9 players. Franklin will cost $6M+ and we still have 5 more on the OL to add in.

We can play with the cap to a degree but, can we afford another high priced guy on the OL?

IF it came down to Pouncey or Franklin, who would you take?

We need to pay O.Franklin whatever it cost, so we don't have the built in excuses for Tannehill not being able to execute against good teams with consistency. Get it done.

Not paying Pouncey isn't even an option. He moves back to center and anchors the middle. IMO for a team to reach the top they need to be strong on the OL, DL, and QB. We got to do what it takes to become strong in those 3 areas. Our OL and QB next year will require lots of money so our DL will have to be filled with draft picks or guys we already have like the Johnsons.

Franklin can solve multiple problems. He can start at guard and move to T in the event of an injury. He should be our first FA target, then O-LINE depth should be up there. I'll be pissed if they go guard at 14.

We can't afford to NOT pay for a big time Free Agent guard. The line needs to be fixed....period. Overspend a bit this year if you have to, but fix it.

Besides, if we don't, YESSIR will have something else to blame on Ryan Tannehill.

Aside from signing Franklin....... Is this pathetic coach not suppose to have expertise in the offensive line to coach "up" guys like billy turner and Shelley smith....... Please and end our miseries by cutting Gardner and Thomas.....

I'm hoping Turner steps up and starts at one guard so we'll just need one more starter after Pouncy goes back to center.

Much better starting point than last year when we had Pouncy and nothing else before free agency and the draft.

Depth as we know is super important so they need to find some cheaper FA's or later round draft choice's to help out. Thomas should be an early cut. He stinks at tackle or guard.

Could Mike Iupati possibly be a bit cheaper of an option at G instead of Franklin? 6-7 million a year feels a tad steep. End of the day though that's where we absolutely must improve.

That's where I'd spend the free agent money. Miami absolutely has to solidify the offensive and defensive lines. Those are huge priorities. If the Dolphins miss on offensive linemen in free agency I think the team will spend either a first or second rounder on the offensive line.

Iupati doesn't fit our system. It won't be him. Bank on it.

We absolutely can...you can do a lot of different structuring to make these deals work. Guard is our absolute top need, no position derailed our season in divisional games more. If not Franklin get Clint Boling.

If I'm deciding between Pouncey and Franklin I'm going Franklin. And as I've mentioned I'd have enough money for a guy like Rodney Hudson, who I think is better and a great zone look.

Franklin seems like a perfect fit. all it will take is money. we have enough dead weight on this roster that we can now and in the future free up the money for him by making smart cuts.

if we could somehow finally solve the O-line for 2015. healthy Albert - stud guard - healthy Pouncey - stud guard - Juwuan James. wow. i'd be extremely happy.

man I hope Albert comes back tough. He's on instagram saying he lost all his muscle lol
