So far this year,

vs Pittsburgh
Heath Miller 3/101/1

vs Tennessee
Bo Scaife 3/53/1
Ben Troupe 2/41

This is really frustrating! Miami's defense has given up almost 200 yards passing and 2 TDs to tight ends in 3 games.

I hope Nick Saban plugs this hole soon!

Problem comes when we have the line backers covering these guys with no safety help because they are on blitzes.

I think we need to settle down with our blitz scheme for a bit. Our corners and LBs just cannot handle man to man coverage yet.

Can we cover anyone? How many open receivers did Collins complete miss yesterday.. COMPLETELY WIDE OPEN RECEIVERS!..Just pathetic.

IMO...in this D, to cover TEs/RBs, the ILBs need to be 6'1"-6'4"...God love him, but Zach's size/age/$cap# are starting to outweigh his head, and his heart (which after nearly a dozen years of being an NFL "Moses", is starting to fail him).

Tight ends?

We have trouble covering anyone.
We all knew the secondary would be a weak point this year. The question was how big. I had no idea it was going to be this bad. I have seats in the upper deck and can see the whole field. Those of you who were watching on TV have no idea just how bad it was yesterday.

Be happy it was Kerry Collins QB'ing yesterday and that he was getting a little pressure. WR's were toasting our secondary badly.

"complicated defense"
"aging (slow) front 7"
"new DC (2nd in 2 years)"
"young (inexperienced) DBs"

I wonder which part of the "great" news fans were hearing heading into the season gave them the most confidence? Or false hope?

The secondary and the offensive line are major liabilities for the fish. How many times was Bennent behind the secondary? I counted at least 3. Had Collins not been sitting at a bar during Training camp, we lose that game by two touchdowns!

Maybe it wasa when our d line racked up 49 sakes 2nd in the nfl!!!!
and we have the best MLB and a great young OLB
By the way Jason Taylor runs a 4-4, 4-5 so i dont think that is slow!!!!

I counted 5 different times where there was a WIDE open man that was at least 15yrds down field and one that was over 40 that Collins over threw them. We are very lucky to have a win this week and if it is the same next week I might have to start Carr again!!

the linebacker have how many sacks this year with all the blitzing we do?
they are leaving the Te's open when they blitz. zach gets picked up every time!!! his intecepition was on a blitz that he didn't penetrate the line on.

Where was Zach when Bo Scaife was catching a TD in the end zone? Trailing him behind the play. He was even late for the celebration. But, don't worry, he called ahead and told them he wasn't gonna be able to make it.

And have you seen that All Pro MLB blitz lately? No, you haven't. You've only seen the first part of the blitz where he runs head long into the line but never comes out on the other side.

And, that All Pro DE/LB you refer to with all his speed... has 1 sack this year.

Age does terrible things to a body.

And what a difference a year makes.

If you want to see QB pressure, watch the game film of Daunte running for his life against Pitt. That's what 7 sacks look like.
