I'd seriously rather just see Jelani Jenkins out there, or somebody else. We're playing for a good draft pick now anyway, or at least we should be. I hate Wheeler. It's been slowly growing all season and it's full-blown hate now.
Without that STUPID hit to Glennon's helmet, Miami gets the ball back in (likely) good field position with about 5 minutes left. That amount of time means the run game, on it's face, is still a possibility and keeps Tampa D somewhat off-balance. Instead, we get it with 3 minutes at our 5 yard line. THAT was the ballgame. The sacks were absolutely no surprise at that point.
Wheeler also missed a key tackle on the run that took it down to our 1 and led to the easy TD. He NEVER gets there on the blitz. Every time I see him blitz I see the QB get the ball off and he's there a 1/2 step late or later.
To be fair, I didn't like Burnett either. If he was here he'd be hurt by now anyway. There had to be a better LB available, though, than Wheeler.

Can we throw in Daniel Thomas as well? The team should have enough pink paper.

There are a lot of low IQ guys on this team....it flows downward from Ross, Ireland, Philbin and Sherman. Pouncey also got a 15 yarder early in the game. Miami couldn't get up for an 0-8 team until they were down 15-0. If the players don't care, why should I?? F*CK It!!

Regardless. The outcome will be the same. Tannehill takes two critical sacks on the game tieing/winning drive to lose the game.

That was playcalling. After the first sack we should've run a screen to get that yardage back. They brought the house and a screen could've been 6. Sadly, though, we suck at screens (thanks Sherman/Ireland).
Had we gotten the ball around our 30 with 5 minutes left (which would've happened had Wheeler not cheap-shotted Glennon), I'm pretty sure we would've gotten points.

Yup, he had plenty of time. Dilly dallied, hemmed and hawed about where to throw the ball, and then decided to "take a sack". That's what I saw on the last two sacks.

Trusnick is not a starting LB, period. He should be 3rd string and just cover kicks.

You guys realize that Brian Leonard, essentially a block back, whipped our D's ass tonight, right? Him and a 4th string scat-back crushed our D on a long TD drive that gave Tampa their winning margin.

Who do we blame for our suddenly porous run defense?

you got 2 more years of that awful contract...so enjoy it...the trusnick extension while much cheaper is awful also...whoever the lb coach is if he has say in personnel fire his ass also...they obviously covet athlete over instincts which is as dumb as it comes in a lb

Yeah, Wheeler is brutal. I loved it when they panicked and called a stupid roll out play on 3rd down and then Wheeler bailed them out with the penalty. Then Tampa Bay made an even worse call, rolling out on 3rd and 1 to the left side. They did everything they could to give away the game but matched them with an incompetent 4th quarter.

While we're at it, get rid of Reshad Jones. There should be some sort of laugh track here whenever he's announced as a Jeff Ireland find, or some type of decent player. Jones takes bad angles that even the bad angle specialists of all time haven't thought of. Check out Rainey's long run down to the 1 yard line. Jones runs himself right out of the play. It's like we volunteered 10 on 11. He wandered forward to his left even though there was no indication Rainey or the design of the play were headed there. Jones got caught in the trash and was immediately nullified. Rainey took the flow of the play in the other direction and it was wide open spaces. A safety with any type of instincts would have filled that play perfectly and held Rainey to 5 or 7 yards tops. Then Jones played tight to the line of scrimmage on the next play and was toyed with, per usual.

Ireland really screwed us good with all his lousy picks and giving big contracts to Wheeler and Wallace. The linebacking corps sucks, Grimes is on a one year contract and who knows if they'll be able to re-sign him. Patterson has played well but what's he play like once every 4 games or so? The rest of the corners are meh. Jones has had a down year, Clemons plays ok but is not great. The Defensive line with all the money they are getting paid and supposedly all the talent they have ,they sure do disappear a lot during games. I don't know whether to blame it all on the players or on Coyle's scheme and play calling.
