I didn't think it was even newsworthy, but people seemed to be ready to lynch the guy for eating a dang hot dog. Which leads me to believe we should just brand him........................

i totally agree!! he may be a jet but come on, the dude just ate a hot dog who cares. im sure people have done 10X worse.

Oh well, in 2007 we had "Spygate" with Belichick sneaking around videotaping the Jets. This year, we have Sanchez sneaking around eating a hot dog during a game. They're calling this one "hot dog gate". What a scandal! How could he do such a thing! The NFL commish should give him a hefty fine or something for this! :chuckle:

I think the whole thing is stupid. I love his response though, he donated 500 hot dogs, hamburgers, rolls & buns to a soup kitchen in NY.

That's awesome.

I think the story is stupid as well, but if there's any stadium you can enjoy a hot dog as a player as, it's McAfee Coliseum...we've seen much stranger things, mainly involving the Raiders, come out of that looney bin...

Years ago, Jerry Rice did the same thing but he gave a reasonable explanation for it. He claimed he was on some new diet plan and lacked energy during the game.

He may be a Jet, but I give him props for this.

Also, I know they won that game, but if the incident didn't come off the heels of a 3 game losing streak, one that was capped off by a 5 interception game from Sanchez, this wouldn't be that big of a deal.
Just my thought

I wonder how he played afterwards? Did he get his energy back? :chuckle:

I don't remember the game or how he did but he sure as hell didn't try and hide it. They actually showed him getting it from a vendor in the stands.
