We missed on two other players that the Pats let go (Jonathan Cooper, Dominique Easley), could we NOT look this gift horse in the mouth and see if he's better than Jermon Bushrod?

The NFL’s daily transaction wire brings word that the Patriots have waived guard Tre’ Jackson.
Jackson was a third-round pick in 2015 and made nine starts during his rookie season with New England. He hurt his knee late in that season, however, and never made it on the field last season after having surgery in the offseason.

What makes you so sure that we missed out on Cooper and Easley? Did Miami make them offers? We're they targeted?

I don't support the logic that every player that the Patriots release should be rostered.

I'd say kick the tires at least. Can't be any worse than the camp bodies we bring in any given year.

I want to say he's been injury prone and not that good when he did play but who knows. More often than not NE is making the right roster moves

We needed a guard last season and Cooper was on the waiver wire because his foot was injured...so the Pats claim. Teams were Belichecked and he winds up on the Cowboys.

Easley was cut from the Patriots with "locker room cancer" in the air, although reports refute that behavior. He's now on the wire with a 1st round tender attached.

If they weren't targeted, which there has been no indication they were, they should have been because IMO they are better than what we have at their respective positions (RG & backup DL).

It's the knee not healing

Cooper was on the waiver wire and that is why the Browns were able to claim him before anyone else. Yes we probably should have put a claim on his after Cleveland released him in late December but there is nothing Cooper has done for the previous three teams that probably warranted claiming him.

Tre' Jackson on the other hand may be worth taking a chance on...if healthy.

Might be nice to bring in for camp but not sure how good he actually was. Hopefully better than at least one of our backups inside, but I don't know much personally
