Can't remember who posted that before, but didn't Williams earn that over preseason? Watching the win at New England compared to the last 2 loses was the fact that the other team had somebody to fear. Moreno was that guy who brought that energy. Right now we are a joke. We have no identity. L. Miller does good in support but I think it is time to throw some youngblood in the fire. That goes for some of the other rookies. Need to see more excitement out there. Not just a quarterback change but others could easily fill the void! Is this not the coaches job? Evaluate talent and put them in position to succeed?
Can we please play Damian Williams more than D Thomas!

Daniel Thomas looked good in the limited opportunities he got on Sunday. He ran hard and showed some vision.

I'm glad he provided. I would just like to understand the logic behind the decision. How do the other players feel towards the coach cutting him. Then bringing him back and taking the position you earned? If you play to win for your coach and team, there should be no 2nd guessing. Who'd figure Jenkins would make a great linebacker if it wasn't for injury. Need to see more of our drafted and undrafted play is all I'm saying. Hope this isn't a pattern from last year!

I thought the same. But the problem I see is it took him being cut for that to appear. Seems he lacks motivation and I think he would soon revert to his old ways if he got comfortable again.
There you go! Agreed. Want to see what Tripp and McCain have to offer. Jones and Pounce back won't hurt either. Need some more swagger around here!

If Damien Williams had gotten the yards that Thomas did, and Thomas gotten the carry where guys in the backfield busted before it started, people would be calling for Williams to start and writing him in for the pro bowl. Thomas makes those fine plays and people just whine that he was playing at all.

There are a number of factors that go into why players get cut, it's not always that the players you keep are better players. Darkwa and Williams give the team more on special teams than Thomas does. So when you're talking about your third or fourth string players you want guys that can help the team in more ways than just playing running back. There was also a cost consideration. Williams and Darkwa combined were set to make less money than Thomas. And finally projected growth. Thomas might be the better back right now, but if you think Darkwa and Williams have room to grow while Thomas has maxed out then you go with the younger players.
