start a new area for the "so and so got cut or released, we should sign him" threads. It seems every day there are 10 of these and they should go in another area instead of clogging up the main area. Ive noticed there are alot of people complaining, myself included, about these threads. Move them to a new area, unless Miami actually signs the player.

Agreed

Only if we start a similar area for complaints about such threads.

I really dont understand what the big deal is. Dont read them. Dont post in them.

What else should we be talking about at this point in the offseason?

The point is, these threads clog up too much space on the main boards and could very simply be moved to another spot. Like I said before, these threads are ridiculous. People only post them to post them. They give no reason whatsoever as to why Miami should sign the player. All they say is, so and so got cut, lets sign him. No reasoning, no nothing. If you want to talk about it, fine, just put the threads somewhere else and talk about it there unless Miami ACTUALLY signs a player. Than these threads can go to the main boards. There are too many people complaining about these threads and I agree. People come to these boards for news, some probably dont have alot of time to browse, so when they do they dont want to be hassled with ridiculous threads like, "so and so just got cut, lets release them". People just post without even thinking about what they are posting and its ridiculous. If your going to post something, back it up. Plain and simple. Do you see how I explained why these threads should be moved, thats how the "xxxxx player just got cut, lets sign him" threads need to be. People want to talk football and the Dolphins, but give something to talk about, not this bull****.

Dont think they should be moved. This is the Dolphins forum, and the posts imply the DOLPHINS may take a look at a certain player.

Like I said, I dont mind them as long as the player is realistic (i.e. actually UFA or team announces they are allowing them to seek a trade) and fits schematically. I certainly dont think it 'clogs up the board', when you can see the title and choose whether or not you want to read on, or better yet, just hold your cursor over the title and you can read the first couple of lines and assess whether you want to proceed.

At this point in the offseason, you are bound to get these types of threads for a couple of reasons. One, we still have holes and lack talent at some key positions. Two, we have waiver priority. Three, we have a new regime looking to put their stamp on the roster. Four, they have admitted that they are going to constantly retool the roster throughout the summer, looking for those diamonds in the rough. No, I dont have a problem discussing possibilities, I actually think it creates some of the more interesting discussion on the board.

If you ask me, complaints about what people post clog the board more than valid threads about NFL players that could plausibly be Dolphins in the near future.

Thats the point. There is no implication that the Fins will take a look at the player. Whoever posts these threads automatically assumes that Miami will take a look or be interested, when in fact, they have no clue. Again, they also just say lets sign this guy and dont even back it up. Its one thing for a player to be cut and then hear or find speculation that Miami might be interested, but its a complete other thing to just say lets sign this guy with no information. If your going to spit out some info, make sure you back it up otherwise its just bull**** to alot of people.

I agree about signing a player if it makes sense, however, about 90% of the players that have been cut already make no sense or are just bad players. Yet again, people fail to back up their statement as to why we should sign a guy. I have to finish up work here so I can get the hell out of here, so I dont have time to keep going back and forth. Im simply saying if you are going to post and if you are going to make a statement to sign a guy, back it up and dont just post some ridiculous comment just to post.

This is a totally overblown issue. I feel that any topic that generates conversation and Miami can be a part of should stay right here. Why would we want to move topics that generate discussion?

Not to mention that I only see 4 or 5 at this point out of a ton.

I didnt say that the team implies they will sign the player, but the poster, by posting it here, is implying it is a possibility. And in 99% of cases, it IS possible. We dont know whether it is or isnt. As long as you take the threads for what they are, which is speculation and a source of debate, then whats the big deal?

And I dont agree that 90% dont make sense. We were 1-15. We lack talent, pretty much everywhere. So when a guy is released from a team, there is a real good chance that team is more talented than us, and so a guy they dont need could fit a need on this team.

I agree. They are useless threads. It wouldn't be so bad if it was actually a player that could make sense being on the team, but 99.9% is some washed up dude that would be lucky to get a roster spot in the CFL.

I second this motion... mods...PLease, how about a new forum for new cast offs

These threads have been around for years and it's no big deal. Read what interests you, pass on what doesn't. There is almost no news coming from the Fins these days. At least it's something to talk about if you like that sort of thing. I'm sick of the JT, Dancing With The Stars crap, but I choose to not read it. No big deal.
