Can we stop all this Larry Fitz for JT talk. Seriously, Fitz is a 24 year old pro-bowler that is gonna be a stud for years. He isnt even in the prime of his career yet. And people think we can get him for JT and a 3rd or 4th rounder???? I mean I love JT, but the guy has about 1-3 years left....why the hell would the Cardinals make this trade??? To get rid of his contract? You think they are just gonna give a top 5 WR in this league away like that? And what Parcels all of a sudden is prone to paying one player $15 million a year??? Come on. Yes, he did have TO on his team, but that was a Jerry Jones decision, not the Tunas!!! Come on people. Get a clue. Optimism is a great thing. But reality has got to set in here.

I agree, and I would feel horrible if we trade JT to Arizona, he would probably even retire if we did such a move like that. Ship him to a playoff team on the verge of the superbowl and both sides win and no hard feelings.

JT for Fitz

It all depends on how bad AZ wants rid of the huge contract. They have been notoriously cheap over the years - not paying their own players. While the signing of Edgerin James a couple of years ago may show different, their overall pattern is to not pay.

JT would help to continue to build their defense, but it's not an ideal fit either. AZ is not that close to a Superbowl.

Time will tell.....

The Cards have a hard choice to make...

1) (2008) Pay Fitz 14+ million this season. (2009) Then try to resign him to a long term contract next season or trade him for picks and players.

2) (2008) Pay Fitz 14+ million this season. (2009) Then pay him 15+ million the following season. (2010 FA Year)Then try to sign him long term or franchise tag him at 20+ million.

3) Trade him this season for a players & picks.

The Cards cannot really have that much tied up into one player and then try to improve the team. That is why Pace is a Jet and other FA's are leaving now as well. They gave him a contract that has become a nightmare.

I think they pay him this season and then try to redo a long term deal starting in 2009. His agent wants a 4 year deal, so that he is only 29 at the end of the contract. Well I want a million dollar a day job, that is not gonna happen. There will be no teams out there willing to give him a 4year deal, just so he can hold them hostage for his last big payday.

Larry is one of the best WR's in the game today. But Moss in his prime was not worth 15 million per season. I would love for Fitz to be a Dolphin, but unless they are willing to give up...

JT, 1st overall pick, 2nd round pick, and a 2nd round pick next season for Fitz and the Cards 1st rounder....not gonna happen. Hell it might take even more than that to get him. Is any one player worth that...yeah to me a QB but that is it.

I don't think JT and a mid round pick will get it done, but when talking about Fitz, you won't get nearly his full value because of his contract. If they are trading him at all, they are doing it because they have to get rid of his contract. That means they'll take the best offer they can get. It won't be nearly what he is worth.

this couldn't go in one of the many exsisting LF threads? your opinion (which is shared by many who have already posted in the exsisting threads) is that profound that it needed a new thread?

The Bidwell family, which has owned the Cardinals for abut 50 years, have always been cheap. That is why the Cardinals have the worst record in NFL history. I don't see Fitz getting his money there....so that is why we should not "stop talking about this." That is why we have these forums....to talk about the draft, FA's and possible acquisitions in the off season.

If you want to stay away from talking about fitz/jt trades you should start a new thread about it and spark more discussion of the topic, i mean thats what i would recommend....

Franchise him at $20+ mil? The current tag for a WR is $7.85 mil, how did you figure that amount??

While were at it can we stop all the Deangelo Hall talk too?
