Can we trade welker during the seven day period that we have to match the NE contract?
There might be other teams (not in our division) that also think highly of Wes.
Maybe we get a better pick and don't have to face Wes 2 times a year.

No. Once he signs the offer sheet it's either match it or let him go.

Bye Bye Wes.... i like Wes but not at that money....take the 2nd rounder and move on....:dolphins:

A trade is not plausible, so the Dolphins will either agree to the written terms or, as expected, let the player go within the seven-day window.

Im sorry, are you actually AFRAID of seeing Wes Welker 2-times a year? Come on, my heads still spinnign that a team is willing to give up a 2nd rounder for him...

Yeah sorry, I love Wes, hes one of those "energy guys" whos always a an favorite.

But he is NOT worth either 38mil or a second round pick. Imagine, we trade our new second and sixth for the #3 pick and Calvin Johnson. Yeah, Wes and Big Daddy for CJ? ABSOLUTELY!!

Or just stand pat and take Quinn at 9, then someone like Staley and a top receiver in the second, wow.

This is really starting to look good!

The Pats are overpaying for Welker and they know it, but accept it. Why? They need a reliable #3, and Welker is a good (though not gamebreaking) ST guy. THey are making a run here people, and spending the money to do it while meanwhile giving us a chance to start getting back in the race!

lett them pay the man thats going to brady top wide out they will let him go when they get any thing going pats are stupid

It's a win-win for both sides. Wes will be able to elevate a level with that offense and Tom Brady and we will get a 2nd round pick for a guy that over-achieved for the time that he was here.

Although he played great for us and is the fan favourite he had reached his potential in Miami and we got more than he was worth in terms of compensation.
On the pats side though his potential is higher because they have a better QB who can get him the ball in the right spot and let him get some YAC. Plus he's versatile which the Pats love and everyone knows that BB loves BB guys which Wes seems like.

Yeah no doubt. Wes was great for us, I will always be proud that he represented our team, but a 2nd rounder for him is straight up robery.

Robbery maybe, but think about the potential picks we can get with that 2nd rounder.

In the past Roscoe Parrish,Lee Evans,Anquan Bolden were in the 2nd round. This year we may have 2 2nd rounders. This may be in our advantage. Not too mention the money we will save, not matching that ludicris contract.
