I'm more of a college football fan and I don't follow the NFL too closely but I enjoy reading this forum and watching Saban shape this organization into a winner. I notice by looking at the AFC East standings that this week's game has huge implications. You guys have Buffalo at home and are coming off a big win.

Break this game down for me. For an outsider, what are the things to watch for, what are the keys to the game, who has been playing well lately, who's due for a big game, etc? I'm going to find a way to watch this game and I'll be pulling for Saban and it looks like a win will put the Dolphins right back in the playoff hunt. Go Fins!

We'll take them down if we run the ball. If we rely on the pass too much we'll lose.

The Bills have one of the worst run defenses in the league. They give up almost 5 yards a carry and 146 yards a game. We played without Ricky in the first game against Buffalo which was a loss. Even then, Ronnie only carried the ball 17 times for 97 yards. A 5.7 ypc average. If Linehan has learned anything at all then he'll give it to R&R almost every play. I think we had at least 5 turnovers in that game. Hopefully the team is working on correcting those.

This is a huge game because with a win we move into 2nd adn with a Patriots loss we move one game behind them with plenty of games left to play.

Watch our running game, we have a great RB tandem and our OL has been doing well lately. Our QB, Frerotte, has a great arm and if we can use him to spread the defense out then our running game should have success. Our defense could also be a problem. The Bills don't have much of a passing game but we need to stop their run and we are missing one of our best (and the NFL's best) defensive players in Zach Thomas. Channing Crowder (who I'm sure you'r familiar with) is now the core of our linebackers.

We beat ourselves last time around, so we have to force the Bills to beat us and we should come away with a big W.

Yup.......Run, Run, Run, Run, Run. 30-40 rushing attepmts and 15-20 passing attempts would = Victory for Miami.

its simple.

If the fins run the ball 30+ times and pass less than 20 times, the Fins will win.

but they wont.

they will pass 35+ times and the bills will manage to get a few INTs which cost the fins the game.

We can win, all we have to do is not beat ourselves. And btw, Zach is planning on playing this week Spydertl.

Maybe... but I believe that Linehan has gotten the message from last games results (50%/50% - pasing to running plays).
Now, however, when he starts to call one of those questionable passing plays, Saban will be standing right next to him with the counter decision to run it!

Isn't it funny how fans of both the Dolphins and rivals can see this so clearly, yet Miami's offensive coordinator can't?

I don't think the Dolphins will run the ball as much as they should, but I do think they will manage to get the win. It will be close.

I fear you may be right. I already have ZERO confidence in Linehan. His head is so far up his azz it's not funny. But if the Dolphins run the ball they will crush the Bills.

well the fins have to get TDs. teams have been running on us all season. but if they dont get in to the endzone, it just keeps the other team in the game.

Phins should be able to win, assuming we don't have a repeat of the 5 turnover, 18 penalty performance during the first meeting.

They have also been running it in all season against the Bills. The Bills have given up 15 rushing TD's. Second most in the league to Houston. The Bills are also second in giving up runs over 20+ yards.

Yeah I think running the ball will produce TD's. Ricky, when given the chance has looked great lately. And running the ball often and effectively will give Miami some chances through the air to score as well. This game comes down to 1 thing IMO. The Dolphins ahve to run the ball early and often. If the do, it might not even be close. If the don't.........
