or respectfully come back and play in this league after a hazing incident?

Unless you run away, and your mommy and daddy (Coaches, HR, NFLPA) have to get involved.

Man up and take it, or bite back if it goes overboard? Then, yes. Absoutely.

Only 1. If the meltdown is based on a chemical deficiency.

Fix the deficiency. Then,

2. The man has something deep inside that lets him man up w. the team -- admitting he had a meltdown, explaining the chemical breakdown, and then living up to the increased expectations.

Which is to say: Not often.

Goonboss: We both used "man up" in replying, lol. Nice.

*Shrugs* I don't know any other way to be. Present yourself as a hard target, and chances are the
wolves will move along to the next target.

I used it the day it happened. I don't know how else to be either Goon. Survival of the fittest man, in life every single day. I might be an ******* but the way I look at it is two fold:

1) Martin finally got some help for whatever the hell it is he needed it for and
2) It removes the weakest link.

No...at least not with Miami...

I'm sure he will feel better at home, in his snuggie with a cup of coco, watching reruns of the Golden Girls with his Mommy....

I cant imagine the verbal abuse he is going to take if he gets back on the field.

either his career is destroyed or he'll come back with a lot of fire. some people can only get fierce and resolute by being pushed all the way down first. it isn't over yet even though it likely is.

Sure.

I think it will take team leadership to squash the issue call a players only team meeting and tell everyone to cut the crap regardless of what happen.

Man up, stop being idiots and play some damn football.

Manning up should've started with Martin. Too late to pull the "tough guy" card now.

It depends what happened. Most hazing and teasing is part of the NFL culture. This isn't like a person outing a co-worker who is gay or sexually harassing someone, from what I have heard, but today's workplace is changing. Just looking at a co-worker in the wrong way can get you a letter or visit from the HR department.

Look at Steve Smith and one of the Rams cbs Smith was ready to get assault charges after the game and infront of the camera after some personal jawing if the league didnt touch that then they should not the Cafteriagate scandle.

Same organization (NFLPA) that bleats about player safety, the argues to excuse a habitual, unrepentant
player that abuses the rules on player safety (Merriweather) that the NFLPA wanted!
Useless group is useless.
