Cancer-free, Mark Herzlich is back on the field

One week after promising to return in time for spring practice, Boston College All-American Mark Herzlich took the field with his teammates for the first time today since being diagnosed with Ewing's Sarcoma last May. Herzlich is still limited in how much work he can handle, but he was looking more like his old self -- beard, a little hair up top -- after a season of nearly unrecognizable appearances due to the chemo therapy.

i really liked the potential of herzlich before he got cancer... i don't know how much weight he lost but he's got a long road ahead of him ... wishing him all the best here !

Happy to hear he is fully recovered. It will be interesting to see if he can return to his previous athletic ability. He was a great player before being diagnosed.

Loved this guy before his hiatus. I have a feeling he'll be back with a vengeance next year.
