Been following the Canes offseason and though I am always hopeful, nothing has particuarly inspired me in the Canes overturning a disappointing 2005 season.

Is there anything for us Canes fans to look forward too or are we looking at another year of mediocrity?

Theres plenty to look forward to

Tyrone Moss back and healthy, Kyle Wright has a year under his belt and will be great, The Defense will be as good/better than ever, only question is how will the O-line play and will Coker become a good coach overnight

It all depends on how well our o-line plays and how good our recievers will be for Wright and how good of a back Tyrone Moss can be.

We have a new offensive line, but other than that we are coming back at full strength.

Kyle Wright has a year under his belt, and finally has an offensive coordinator. Tyrone Moss is back to make those runs that Charlie Jones couldn't against Ga Tech, and receivers have a lot to prove. People are saying this is the best defensive unit ever at Miami. Phillips and Meriweather at the two safety spots is unfair, and Daryl Sharpton is reminding a lot of the coaches here of Jon Vilma. Baraka Atkins and Bryan Pata are coming back on the d-line, and T-Good and Beason are also coming back. We have two incredible tight ends this year with Olsen and Richard Gordon, and hopefully the new O.C. will know how to use them. I think you should be excited about this year....I am.

just a question to da canes fans, how will the loss of Willie Williams effect your D? Surly you guys have some hungry guys in your depth chart, but all that talk about Williams must of hurt

It doesn't hurt one bit. Willie is leaving because he can't handle being benched. Jon Beason is our best LB and so he will continue to start. Obviously, Willie lacks the heart and determination of a true Canes player, so I'm happy to see him go to another place where the starting position is handed to him on a silver platter.

U are being a bit harsh on Williams, he has all the talent to be great, and I would love for him to stay and wait it out. He has shown flashes of greatness, even last year, but its obvious he is having one hell of a time understanding how to read college offenses, and tho his physical ability keeps him in plays, more often than not u are gonna get burned on a play because he doesn't understand the formations and things like that. Zack is not the greatest athlete at LB, but he quite possibly is the smartest . . Willie needs some of them smarts to become a complete player. He is frustrated with not being handed a starting position, u are right about that, but the only real knock is mental for him.

This defense will be sick, no worries on D what so ever . . all the question are on offense. Kyle Wright, people are saying fantastic things about him . . I know he proved to me last year he can run this team, I know he will only get better. My questions, like everybody else are mainly to do with wide receiver and the Offensive line. If we can get some consistent Wide Receiver play and some protection, no reason why we cannot go undefeated this year. A 9-3 season will give Coker the axe this year, mark my words. I know we will be ok at RB this year, and TE we look excellent. As a Canes fan, I am real excited about this year. Not to mention we have a fairly easy schedule, if we can win the slugfest wit FSU at home, get the kinks out against FAMU and beat Louiville at Louiville, I like our chances to go undefeated. tho Coker is key to get these guys ready to play every week.

It's almost a no win situation for Hurricane fans at this point. I don't know what I want to happen. I kind of feel like I did as a Phin fan when Wanny was here.

Do you hope they win in spite of their coach or do you actually kind of hope they falter for one more season so the team will rid itself of Coker? I mean Butch Davis is rumored to be waiting in the wings but if Coker pulls off a top 5 season he's probably not going anywhere.

True, but these are Coker's guys in there now, the thing with Butch Davis and why he got major propz was for recruiting . . he was a master when he was here. Plus he played in a weak conference. I'm not standing up for Coker, but if he can bring this team to glory this year, he deserves to stay . . he hasn't been terrible u know, just unfortunate, however if he has another sub par season, he has got to go.

It's all good.....

No worries dude. We're gonna be like one of those Stealth Bombers. Nobody sees us coming until it's too late and then Boom! I hope we're the underdog in all our big games I like it better that way.:dolphins:
