We've all kind of come to take this for granted already, but in the grand scheme of things, it is absolutely amazing that he is starting week 1. Not only that, but he did not miss any offseason activities, played in all preseason games. I mean, his recovery could not have possibly come along any better. Regardless of what that rat Childress says, Daunte is a consummate professional, and has put in tons of work in order to recover more quickly than could have possibly been expected. I think its indicitive of his character, and shows his leadership by example, and that he is going to be a hard worker for this city and this team for a long time!

I agree, 15 years ago Culpepper starting tonight would have been an impossibility. Science has really found out how to put a knee back together. Not only him. Carson Palmer and Braylon Edwards are two other guys who are starting week 1 after serious knee injuries, that just a few years ago would have been considered "career threatening". Amazing stuff really.

It is amazing that Daunte is starting for the Dolphins. For only a 2nd round pick. That is beyond insane. Beyond. If he wasn't ready by mid season then I could say maybe the Vikings weren't completely stupid. However he is ready, and the Vikings are completely stupid.

And funny thing is . . . Nick had noooo problem not putting him in, even if it meant CPep sitting out the whole season to finish recovery. The man is ready, maybe not 2004 ready, but effective I'm gonna be the best QB since Marino left ready . . .which is all we can ask for. It's not about being cautious anymore because if there was caution I don't think CPep would be playing. May take him this Pitt game to get some full force action and shake those cobb webs off, but its just amazing to have him starting for us so soon.

Nah I believe they were stupid even if he sat out the whole year. Daunte is one of the top QB's in the game . . . a franchise player, and u give that up for a 2nd round pick . . . I'm sorry, maybe CPep never returns to full form . . .but all this excitement and hope . . . the pick was well worth the oppurtunity to get that type of player at QB.

He put in hours and hours in rehab. He has my respect just for that. Not too many people gave him a chance of coming back the way he did. Just another reason why I trust Sabin completly.

Hell yea, Culpep...deserves everything he gets this year, he earned the best...i love the guys heart and leadership, and cant wait to see him under center thursday night!!!!

this is a bad idea. i REALLY don't trust our offensive line. i keep seeing it play out in my head. Daunte getting hit in the knee again and going down hard. I hope it doesn't happen but unless that O line gets better......

Everyone pray extra hard to the dolphins football gods.

Hopefully this season will play like a hollywood football inspirational movie. All things are possible. :D

Not very many healthy knees can take a hit in the knee without getting hurt.
