What is the link to your avatar? It may be too big for the avatar size restrictions. Try inserting the image again and see what happens.

Go here to Settings, in the upper right hand corner of the page, to add your avatar. Scroll down to "edit avatar" in the menu on the left and then add your avatar picture there.
Thanks guys! It was my avatar I was doing it wrong. Happy holidays
