I think its simply impossible to grade a draft. I'd like to say we got an A, but we could have just as easily gotten an F, but the truth of the matter is this: None of us really know.

What I do want to know is where do we go from here to prepare for the 2008 NFL season? I would love to see us go after the next big reciever who gets cut or demands a trade. I think Boldin would be an ideal fit, but one can only hope =)

I also think we need to take an agressive approach with the cornerback position.

At least both our lines seem ready to go, and our backfield seems to be finished as well.

Draft grades are the follow up BS to Mock Drafts. Outside of the first 10 picks or so, what is the point of a Mock draft???? With all the trades, no one can call it. Its pointless. They should just put out a list of players, where they suspect they could be potentially taken, and list the teams which might be interested in picking them. Trying to Mock even the first round is stupid.

Grading drafts directly after they happen is equally stupid. Grade them next offseason.

Speaking of Mocks. How many of the Mocks for the phins on here had more than 2 players right? Im sure plenty got Long right. After that Im sure a few had Henne. Maybe one or two tops had the kid from Clemson if that. And if they had us getting him at 32 I doubt they had Henne going to pick 57 and us getting him there. Waste of time Mocks are.

Welcome to the NFL being the biggest game in town. Godell is doing a great job in creating a season that never ends.

mocks are great because everybody loves the draft . . . and mocks are a big part of it . . . many of us would be CLUELESS w/o the mocks . . . myself included . . . there is no way I could keep up w/ all these less known guys w/o mock drafts . . . .

they don't really mean much . . . but gives the fan an idea of where people will get drafted.

What exactly makes Dorsey better than Chris Long . . . and why would u take a Dorsey over a Chris Long if u need a DE . . . but some analyst says Dorsey is better but they play different positions . . . . who knows . . . but I still enjoy the draft.

The draft grades are so misleading. Some base it on flash and others on substance, but, as much as we hate to admit it, we needed help everywhere and even though they weren't sexy, the picks were exactly what we needed. Drafts and their success are different for different teams, it depends on your own personal situation as a team. Some teams are a player or two or three away from being really good, others like us, need to start somewhere, before they are a player or two away. Line help on both sides of the ball and I believe the O-line especially is going to go from laughable to solid in one season. The improved D-Line and Front Seven will mask, not cure, but mask the secondaries lack of ability. But as far as draft grades, we are in rebuilding and that started this weekend. I am of the mind that you build a foundation though the draft and then once that foundation is built, you starting adding the accessories in free agency. I think this is a great start and while I don't expect to see us competing for the playoffs next year, if our O-Line and D-Line/Front Seven come into shape this year and Beck or Henne show enough to give us hope, then I believe next years Draft and Free Agency is where we can look towards with regards to Secondary and Receiving help. It's cliche, but rome wasn't built in a day and Ireland and Parcells were brought in to build a football team and you can't do that in one draft. We as Dolphins fans have never been able to accept that we're rebuilding, but fact is we have been since Marino left, now, we just finally have a F/O that is willing to do what's needed and build from the ground up and not try to build on the run as did Wanny, Saban, and Cam. Even if it's not the popular or sexy choice for the fans. Like it or not, it's what is needed.
