I'm told the NFL's salary cap is expected to jump to at least $155M this year. Nearly $12M more than last year's ($143.28M).Thats a big jump! Should make things interesting
That Suh contract doesn't seem so bad with the cap increasing like this nearly every year.
The cap is projected to go up $10M a year in each of the next four years. Many, including the media, do not consider this and the team's cap space for next year and the year after. It is very short sided, and just silly, to look at the Dolphins space this year saying that we are in trouble. No where near true.
And by the time we take Suhs big cap hit after restructuring this year the increase will likely about take care of it anyways. Just wait until a couple DT's sign new deals this year and next and same with a couple of the younger qbs and see who's talking about Suh and Tannehills contracts anymore

If The Dolphins are not in trouble . . . then no team is in trouble. The Dolphins are this generations version of "cap hell" . . . which in the end, isn't nearly as bad as it sounds.
Completely disagree. Been doing this cap stuff for many years, and cannot recall being wrong. Learning is always a VG thing. Please show me what I'm missing?

You aren't missing anything . . . I just think you are looking at Miami's situation and thinking it is all good, but failing to look at the other 31 teams an realizing . . . "damn I thought we were good, they are even better than us".
As the cap goes up, the contracts go up and thinking needs to evolve. Can Miami manufacture cap space, sure, but there are teams sitting with cap space that don't have to lift a finger . . . in comparison to the other 31 teams . . . . we are in 2016's version of "cap hell" . . . .just be thankful it's not nearly as bad as it used to be.
