Forgive me for not having the exact numbers in front of me. But both these gents have quite a 2014 salary.

What do you anticipate? Moore either restructuring or getting cut?

I like Hartline a lot. He fits our scheme, but I'm weary of the cap hit.

Of course Mike Wallace is up for discussion as well...

Thoughts?

No way in hell you get rid of Hartline. You are not restructuring Wallace after 1 year. Moore is also either staying or being traded.

Can't imagine anyone trading for Moore with his contract.

I seem to recall that Matt Moore was about $5M per annum. That's a lot but he is one of the best backup QBs in the NFL. It represents a potential cost saving to cut him, if Devlin makes further progress, but frankly I'm quite comfortable spending the money as insurance. In contrast, look at the lack of depth behind Aaron Rodgers in Green Bay when they looked at Scott Tolzein and then Matt Flynn. A few years ago when Peyton Manning went down with neck surgery they went from up near the top to dead last because of no QB depth.
It really is insurance.
BTW - eliminate your thoughts of restructuring or cutting Hartline. Some people don't seem to get that he is a good WR. He has caught for over 1000 yards for the last 2 years. When he got injured and left the field in the Jets game, was the moment when the wheels fell off our run to the Playoffs. And less than one week later your solution to enhance our prospects is to restructure or cut him. SMH.

Wasn't my solution at all. I was just opening a discussion.

Hartline is Tannehill's best receiving option. They have chemistry and that's hard to replace. Hartline is also not a Diva, stays out of trouble, and makes INCREDIBLE sideline catches. IMO, you keep him at his current salary.

Moore is a very good back up QB who could get a chance to start with a few NFL teams. His number is a little high but I'm not sure if Devlin is ready to step up to #2. If Devlin is ready, then a trade is likely. We can always use another draft pick.

If you are comfortable with Matt Moore as backup then you must also be comfortable with Tannhill starting too. We saw what Matt Moore and Tannehill can do in the last two games. I'm more comfortable with Devlin starting and Tannehill backing him up, which is the way it's going to be soon if we can finally get rid of Ireland and return to winning ways.

Wallace I dont think will get restructured unless Aponte can pull some accounting magic out her tiny ass (i think its tiny but i might be mistaken). But if you do, you extend him out further with big money and not sure you want to do that under this regime if we are unsuccessful. Eat his 17 mil cap hit this year and he becomes much more doable for years later for whatever.

Matt Moore is really not needed here anymore. I am sure Jeff Ireland, since he found Matt, could get another backup for half the price if needed. Otherwise, I think Devlin fits this system well. He needs to be signed then. Matt Moore has small hands and is not good over time should RT go down with injury particularly in bad weather. Which we are bound to be in for the rest of eternity. He is no longer worth that money.

We need to draft alot of our Oline bigtime for the future. Draft picks are cheaper now and you can get guys in this draft who can come in right away. I would like to get Albert in KC but that is costly. Mckinne could be had for half price I think and you draft your future T's to replace him year after or when he is injured. but I now think we need two stud G's who can come right in as rookies and plug/play. There are some good ones out there.

See if you can get Soliai to come down just a tad on his 6 mil. Or make it so he has more guarranteed money from start. Spreads out over time that way.

Moore looked poor this year in relief. I wouldn't mind moving on from him considering how much he makes. Have to keep Hartline though.

I don't see what good it does to drag Captain Crunch into this mess. He's doing his job just fine.

Moore can hit the road and save the cash. Fix the Oline and move Devlin up. Tanny showed durability by surviving the season with **** for a line. Hartline ain't going anywhere.

I always liked Matt Moore. He is absolutely worth keeping especially after seeing the Packers without Rodgers. We can win games with Matt Moore. Seeing him come off the bench and make that long completion to Hartline was amazing. Very difficult to do. If Tannehill gets hurt and can't come back in a game, Moore can pick up right where Tannehill left off. There are VERY few backups I would have the same confidence in.

Really?? The Devlin bandwagon still exists? He was mediocre in the preseason against 4th stringers. He can't seem to outshine Tannehill or Moore at practice, yet you think he is going to come in and outplay them?
