Cap numbers...pretty good site...Compare the AFC east

best lt this team has ever had period.he will get his $$$$$ here or on any other nfl team

long is making more than Tom Brady based solely on how the #1 pick used to make money and that is okay with you?

this man will want a raise next year and he IS NOT WORTH WHAT HE IS MAKING RIGHT NOW...NO ONE ON THIS DOLPHINS TEAM IS...his contract needs to be restructured and if it is not for the good of the team, then we need to trade him and hopefully pick up a 1st or a 2nd...

Remember we could use our #1 pick next year and pay him less than 1/2 what long will be worth and pick up a few quality FAs with the save cap space...

you're treading on a slippery slope by letting a talent like Long go via FA or even trading him withough a viable LT already on the Roster. Do you not remeber John St. Clair or Wade Smith trying to hold that position down for us?

If memory serves me correctly in the last 15 years or so, elit franchise LT in their prime get let go via FA/trade less then franchise QB's in their prime do.

yes paying Jake the money he's worth is a hard pill to swallow, but if that pill is saving your life then you sure as **** take that ****!

Interesting....If Tannehill does win the starting job does Miami let Moore or Garrard go?

how did the giants win the superbowl W/O a jake long type LT?

the simple explanation is yes LT is important, but it is not as important as it used to be. It is not 12 million a year against the cap important.

If we went out next year and got a 1st round LT we would pay him 1/4 of what long makes and for the most part have little drop off, especially if we go to the zone blocking scheme where you do not need a 6'7" giant...where a 6'4-5" lighter and faster tackle is just as good if not better...

Remember you arent allowed to maul the QB any more, LT would be suspended for the season if he made a hit on tom brady the way he used to put on QBs, even if it was legal...

IMO draft a starter next year and move long this year...we arent winning the division this year and we arent going to the playoffs this year...NO ONE ON OUR CURRENT ROSTER IS WORTH WHAT LONG MAKES...not even long...

I would say we have to get rid of Incognito 4M, Fasano 4M, McDaniel 4M and Murtha 2M. Those folks are getting paid way over their contribution to the team. On the other hand guys to look out for are Dansby 11M and Bush 6M, Although solid Dansby is worth half of that and Bush might be pushed by the guys we have behind him. As far as long we have to see how he works out in the WCO. I can see structuring Long's contract so it doesn't hit the cap by more than 10M a year (don't know how to do that with up front and Guarantee's Etc.) I think the WCO could get it done with a 5-7 Mill guy on the left side personally. I think we have about 25 mill in waste in the contracts for guys we have right now and I think I saw 25 mill in dead cap hits for guys like Carey, Marshall etc. I read we are going to have like 35-50 mill next year and that's exciting so the new staff can go out and get their guys!

Moore may want to be traded. Garrard is not a 16 game starter anymore. I hope that Moore stays, and Garrard goes.

Moore is worth more than he'll get in trade. if a team would give you a 4th or more for Moore + an extension, I take it, but they likely won't.

Fasano is making far too much money for a TE of his caliber
His salary isn't that bad. Give him some credit. He's asked to stay and block more often than most because our RT situation has been just that...a situation. If you're going to complain about salaries start with Dansby. He's drastically overpaid. So is Burnett

lmao @ people thinking "long will want more money" maybe Ireland can get him under contract for a hometown discount... you don't get Rid of the best lineman on this team to save cap space to HOPE we sign an impact player that works out. IF Martin (which i hope and i think he will,) works out this team has 3 good lineman. why would you want this team to have 2 good lineman? let me guess you guys want a wonderful line of Martin, incongnito,Pouncey,(insert random name here), and Murtha to protect the Future QB's of this team... lmao.

being a couch GM is wonderful

It's rather amazing. Now we are willing to let Jake Long walk because we think Martin is the second-coming. Wow...

i know - they are so ridiculous. pass on a QB they obviously did not see as the future and they have paper bags on their heads on a weekday afternoon, draft a kid who they think MAY be the future and they are calling him Dan Marino, not to mention the "Martin is the new long" " egnew is finley" and "lamar miller needs to take bush's spot"

not that i dont think we had a solid draft - i do really like ALL of those rookie players, but all these people want to do is get rid of everyone and build madden video game teams. Then they dont show up to games anyway LoL.
