Cap Question

I posted this elsewhere ... but in an unrelated thread where it would probably get no attention, so I'll try again here.


I know that Perry and Moore don't have signifigant cap figures, but if players are placed on the IR do the Dolphins get any kinda cap relief?

I know the NBA has something like that for players out for the season.

Unfortunately, their is no cap relief for players placed on IR or PUP

Thanks Clump! But that sucks, I think they should have some stipulation for that. I believe the NBA rule is that the team can sign a replacement player for half of the cap # of the injured player.

I'm basically clueless about the NBA cap rules, but I do believe a team needs to petition the NBA office for cap relief. Orlando did it with Grant Hill and was denied

I agree.......NFL should look into some cap relief. However, they would likely take it as a debit on the following year's cap

Oh, I'm not sure either, I just remember hearing something about cap relief for injured players. That does sound right though. I guess the NBA figures Orlando should have learned their lesson by now ... and this thread just got moved.
