As much as everyone else seen it coming , I didn't think Derrius was on the chopping block at all even with his injury.. he has came through with a couple clutch receptions when other recievers were struggling.. Especially the game winner in New England.. i wish him well wherever he ends up.. but now with his departure.. How much Cap Space do we relieve with his settlement???????

I don't know. A fair amount. I bet like at least $750k. John St. Clair saved like over $1 million.

our cap situation is looking good but why did it matter if we cut them anyways?? We arent going to sign any high priced players right now so why are we cutting these veterans that are good depth players?

Maybe Saban has a plan to bring in a Big Veteran Lineman to lead our boys! Lets cross our fingers!!!

Maybe we are planning on signing other guys to an extension?

Im a firm believer that every team should use every penny of their cap space each year..... except for Philadelphia.

Maybe Randy gets an extension this year?

Thats the only reason I can think of for StClair. He is a UFA next year and at a million bucks, thats not value for a backup.

I for one person am very happy to see DT sent packing. I just wished we would have done it sooner than later.

I for one have mixed feelings. He never really lived up to expectations, but he did have some nice catches for us. I hope he catches on with someone.

NOPE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We saved $550,000
And we hold on to 570,500 in dead cap space.

I get the idea that some of our backups will be getting new deals with "likely to be earned" incentives that they don't earn so this free cap can get pushed into next year. It is going to hurt making some of the cuts we all expect next year, so the team could use the help.

Thats just it if we could push 2 million on to next years cap it would help things out.
