Cap space setting up for a trade for Mike Wallace?

At least the good news is that Ireland is gonna get fired next season after we have another bad season...

IMO most of us would want Blackmon at 8 if he fell that far, so whats wrong with shipping the 8 to Pittsburgh for Wallace. Wallace is a known commodity

With the money we saved from cutting bell and not signing Flynn/Smith, any way we make a big move and trade for Wallace?
First off Pittsburgh would never trade him. Second he's a restricted free agent so any team can negotiate a contract with him and sign him, Pitt would then have a chance to match that offer or let him go, at that point the team signing him would have to surrender their first round pick in exchange.

Now, do you really think Wallace would sign with us? (the answer is no)

Philbin is building the offense thru the draft. thats why we signed Gerrard for only one year. Hopefully Bells cap is to sign Anderson the pass rusher or something better then journeyman QBs.

Philbin is NOT building the offense, Ireland is. Philbin is not the GM. He is the coach who coaches the players that Ireland brings in.

Jeff Ireland isn't that smart to get Mike Wallace.

I would refute that.

There is a reason we have been quiet in Free Agency on the offensive side of the ball.

Philbin was also hand picked by Ross, so there is no way you hire Philbin if you don't give him a say in who he brings in.

The defensive side of the ball, those are classic Ireland moves.

Philbin may not be the GM, but I am very sure he has a say in who he gets on the offensive side of the ball.

The reason we've been quiet on the offensive side of the ball is because we've been rejected more times than a 5'2" white guard going in the lane against Dikembe Mutombo.
