As of now we are $12M under the projected cap for this year.

I would think that Finnegen and Ellerbe would be next on the chopping block. That would add another $10M.

how much room do we need to extend RT? can we backload his extension?

Once Pouncey gets his extension that will free up even more room this year.

Yeah, I'm guessing that would save us around $4M first year of his current $7M deal.

Zero. We would extend him starting next yearM range unless the overall pan, when we have a Boatload of cap space, and his first year is likely only going to cost in the $5-6M range unless we want to pay more to free up future space.

The other thing I have been trying to explain is next year's cap space. As of now, we are $40M under with more coming.

Look like another total rebuild. Irelands players are on their way out.
Hopefully they will actually draft pro bowl players and make wise moves in FA.

did someone say were projected 40 MILLION UNDER the cap next year?

Southbeach - can you provide a source for this?

But thats just right now right? Once we make some FA moves this offseason and give Tannehill his deal and all --wouldn't that make that # much less? What if we overspend this FA? I just wanna know what that 40 mil projected for next season takes into consideration?

Also...say we do have 40+ mil next offseason to spend. What can that get us? How many great players, or positions could be filled with that kinda money?

It's a very strange situation. Hickey appears to want to build through the draft and younger players BUT, likely has to win this year to keep his job and see it through.

I've used Over The Cap since Jason started his site, as most know. Obviously, this is as of today and does not count future additions, subtractions, and the projected cap increase for next year.

We might be disappointed think we're gonna be players in free agency. We're building for 2016 guys.

Ozzy rules!!

Been posting for a while that I do not think we are going to be big players in FA even though we could be. We shall see.

Honestly I hope our biggest play in FA is to sign our own players in Pouncey, Clay, and Odrick. Then perhaps a G or LB

i'm totally fine with that.

as long as we obtain an OG an ILB and a DT that can be solid players for us i am very happy.
