<<CAPERS TO GET A THIRD CHANCE?

There's talk in league circles that one of the possible candidates to replace Steelers coach Bill Cowher when/if/when he leaves is Dolphins defensive coordinator Dom Capers.

Capers was Cowher's first defensive coordinator, and Capers also was the first head coach of the Carolina Panthers. After being fired by the Panthers, he later became the first head coach of the Houston Texans.

Capers' biggest success as a head coach came in 1996, when he led the fledgling Panthers to the NFC Championship Game.

He also has a terrible toupee/weave/combover.>>

well capers didn't take the 'D. Coordinator' title for a reason. he clearly wants to be a Head Coach again.

Ya know, if Saban is to leave, I wouldnt mind seeing Capers step in as head coach. At least we can keep some continuity going.. but this is going to hurt if this is true and he goes too. jeez..

Hopefully there is no truth to this because Miami really needs him around next season.

Had nothing to do with that. The Dolphins could not give him that title. Otherwise Houston would be off the hook for his salary.

wow this is not good.why are the dolphins the team that has been taking it hard lately.capers the bright spot of our off season moves may go:nono:

As a head coach, Capers has proven he cant do anything with a team except make it worse. I dont see the steelers, who do need to improve despite being a decent team, hiring a two time failure.

He took a decent team in the panthers in the mid 90's and ran them into the ground. It looked like he was building something in houston, then the house of cards fell apart on him. The steelers dont need that.

I doubt Pittsburgh would hire Capers. They wouldn't let Whisenhunt interview for the Raiders job last year because there was a supposed agreement that when Cowher left, he was the next Steelers coach.

i wonder what it would take to get shula out of the suite and back to the sidelines. it seems like he has more sense and knowledge than any of these bonehead coaches today.

Ken Whisenhunt did interview for that job, and didn't go because Oakland is a mess.

I heard Russ Grimm is supposed to be the next Steelers' coach.

thats exactly what i was thinking when i was watching the monday night game when espn interviewed him.i think it would be sweet to have him coach

the s.hit just keeps on coming i mean capers did a good job with this defense but now we are probably losing saban, maybe capers i mean every year we are changing and their is never any continuity
