I'll never trust another word that comes out of these NFL pundits' mouths again. LMAO at Mariuci's analysis...

From the get-go, he didn't seem excited to be a Dolphin.

So sad.

Look at that gorgeous old logo.

Regardless, thank you for reminding me why I watch ESPN during the draft. They don't slobber over every pick. Gruden didn't understand the Jordan selection, saying he was a part time player.

I got suckered in. Trading up for him was not on my radar. I got pumped up. I thought it was a trade for Lane Johnson lol. Could not believe it was Jordan, but got all excited for him and Wake to work opposite of each other.

At the time I loved the pick, won't lie. Never thought they would trade up for him. Didn't know the guy was such a clown u can have all the talent in the world but if u got no brains and heart you'll never succeed. It's a shame. Just cut him and move on. Thank god hickey is here now.

I remember that video of Jordan getting drafted very clearly. I watched it about 10 times on the night and got really excited by the possibilities. However a lot of these so-called experts like Mayock and Mariucci also got it 100% wrong. It is interesting how they (and Kiper and McShay and others) get a free pass every year. In 2 night's time, we will hear them all enthralled about certain players who also turn out to be expensive busts down the track. It seems that being a commentator/Draft guru permits convenient memory lapses. GMs and Coaches get fired but the gurus always get a pass.

I didn't particularly understand the trade up or the pick. After finding out what we paid I understood the thought process on the trade up but didn't understand the pick. I was slightly encouraged by the news that the Eagles were targeting him with the next pick, but overall I have taken a wait and see aproach. Well, I've waited and seen enough, a total waste.....

Why didn't we just draft Ezekiel AnSah :boohoo:

Or basically anyone else. FML

Or stayed put and drafted Sheldon Richardson.

I said something similar to a buddy of mine (Iggles fan) earlier today

I, too, prefer Espn. Outside of slobbering over marquee name QB's, there is very little Chuckie does understand IMO.

The funny thing is, I never saw him as a pass rushing DE, and his college numbers didn't support him being one either, yet all of the so called experts talked as if he was this pass rushing demon.

Not for nothin but everyone compared him to JT, including a more than significant amount of this board. Not to take away from your additional assessment, he does look like he couldn't care less about getting drafted

I had little to no idea who he was in college tbh

I hated the pick. I thought we jumped up for Lane Johnson (I was ecstatic, screaming in joy at the TV) and was shocked when they said Jordan's name. I was never impressed with him at Oregon. He had a few special physical traits but i saw nothing on tape that made him a special football player, from his lack of functional strength to his lack of moves/refinement...not a guy who turned speed into power. His best attribute was his ability to cover in space at his size. That alone does not make you the #3 pick when you're being drafted to rush the passer.

That being said, other than Lane, i was a HUGE fan of Bjeorn Werner that year....and that hasn't really panned out yet. I still think he's in the wrong system (dropped from 266 to 257 to play OLB for Colts) which negates his strengths, but his first step and ability to turn the corner was great in college. I wonder if he'll have a similar career to Jerry Hughes once he leaves Indy?
