One play away from winning the game and defensed collapsed again. Pass rush was pretty much non-existent on last drive and that exposes our weak secondary. This loss hurts.

In no way is the defense to blame for this loss.

I honestly thought the Dolphins were going to lose by at least 21 points. I think I am even more pissed now because they had a great chance of winning this game. You cannot fault the defense for failing on that final drive because they played well all game due to the inability of the offense to do anything.

Yet at the same time you can blame the defense because the offense got them to where they needed to be and needed to have one final stop to win the game.

If the patriots lose tonight then everybody in the division is 0-1. Next week in NE is critical already.

Yep. It felt very similar. Defense is complete garbage when it really matters. Never changes. Offense is a joke too.

Our defense played well. The reality is that the defense played well enough to win the game.

The offense needs to score more points. The offense and special teams blew the following opportunities: 4th and 1 in field goal range, wide open pass in a receiver's hands for an easy touchdown, and a screwed 27 yard FG.

Need more than 12 points in a game. Bottom line is that when you hand top QB's in the NFL three minutes and a chance to win the game where they can use all four downs, they are usually gonna do it. It's up to the whole team, not just a last defensive stand.

I thought you were going to equate this to terrible timeout usage, which would be a viable topic considering both those losses involved one or more ridiculous timeouts.

That's the game in a nutshell. We make one of those three plays, we win the game. Defense played a great game but time and time again no Dolphins player can make a play when it counts.

Eh, I wouldn't say in no way. We had the lead late. As well as the defense played, they have to learn to close out games. The last drive touchdown has been a staple of Dolphins defenses for years now.

All 3 phases didn't make enough plays period. The blame game that goes on around here is asinine. The fact is they're not good enough to wins games like this at this point. This is what mediocre teams do,

Yes, with the exception of the last drive the defense was fantastic, but again, when it mattered most, the D folded. Regardless of all the points left on the board, that game should of been won.

Your just listing the opportunities as well. That doesn't even mention the opportunities they didn't create by being pretty much vacant on offense for three and a half quarters other than an Arian Foster dump and run. And also, some of those opportunities were created by the defense.

All in all the offense played a couple minutes of good football the entire game while the defense played the majority of the game playing well. Anything even moderately decent from the offense would have gotten a win.

Defense fell apart during the last 2 minutes of the first half, too. They played great, but absolutely shriveled and gave up 10 points way too easy.

Folding when it matters the most the Defense should be ashamed. Kenny Still can go eff himself.

We have a team that doesn't believe. They don't believe they can do it and they fold over and over again.

Special mentions to Tunsil on the blocked kick, Gase on the horrible timeouts and passing on points early, the defense on the final drive, poor OL play, and of course Kenny Stills. Almost forgot Jordan Cameron. Pretty much a team loss made so much more bitter by the fact that if only one of those items doesn't happen, this is a major win.

Defense played a very good game until 4 minutes left. Sorry folks it's a 60 minute game not 56. I don't want to hear that you gotta score more than 12 points BS and you can't put this on the D...I put it squarely on the D. RT had a kill drive and marched the team 86 yards and scored a TD. The defense in turn who "played well enough to win" as has been said wilted, folded, absolutely caved...

Guess what, Seattle only scored 12 to win, so you don't need to score more than 12 to win. You need to play like you want to win when it counts...Miami usually has one side of the ball that rarely does and the D didn't today.
