I just talked to vice president of football operations Rod Graves for some draft stories that will appear in the newspaper throughout the week, beginning Sunday. Graves chose his words carefully, but it's clear if the Cardinals are going to make a trade, it will be to move down, not up, on draft weekend.

If Quinn is past up by Cleveland you have to get on the phone with this team. I know everyone says Washington, but you never know with those guys. I personally would try and work a trade with the Cards. It also helps the Cards they can possibly trade Brown or Willis in the First if they move up to 9th and us to 5th.

I rather trade up to the Skins. Less expensive. Plus, the Cards or Bucs will not be taking a QB. I would only do it, if I thought someone with needs for a QB can trade up with AZ or Tampa...

I think you jump on any chance after the Cleveland Browns to snag Quinn. Plus we have two second round picks. For the first time we have enough picks where one wont hurt us.

If Arizona doesn't need a QB why trade up with them. It is much cheaper to trade with Washington and they will be much more desperate to trade since they have only 3 picks (1 on the first day) in this draft.

I don't think Washington wants Quinn

From Washington taking their QB on tour to workout several WRs I get that they are satisfied with their current starter (can't remember his name right now, QB from Auburn).

I think Cleveland is the likeliest to draft Quinn if he isn't picked #1 by the Raiders (which doesn't look likely since they supposedly are negotiating with Johnson and Russell). After Cleveland and before Miami, Minnesota is the next likeliest team to draft Quinn and many speculate that they have to all but give their second round pick from last year one more year to see what he can do. If he doesn't do well then they will still have the chance to draft a top-rated QB next year.

What if Joe Thomas is there at #5?? I would rather take the Thomas than quinn. Just my opinion....

Arizona is trading down, because they're cheap. Every year they do this, and it was rumoured a month ago, that thye would try to trade down. This is great for us, instead of giving washington a 3rd for #6, you can now give arizona a 4th for #5. Yes, it sounds illogical, but in business, you have buyers markets' and you have sellers' markets, and this would be with arizona, a buyer's market, because they will be anxious to move down.

I'm not sure Randy and Cam are convinced Quinn is the necessary QB for us to drafat. I'm thinking they are looking at a 2nd rounder for QB and BPA for #9. In that case a trade down is quite possible.

We have visited with Quinn five times. There are rumors Camron really likes Quinn. We hired Terry Shea who was tutoring Quinn up to the combine. Im sorry but I totally disagree with you.The only problem is they are not guarantee that Quinn will be there at 9, so they have to think BPA if Quinn is not there. I personally think Quinn is our guy, but we have to wait and see if Cleveland passes on him, and hopefully they do.

actually, Arizona reportedly has Levi Brown rated higher than Joe Thomas, but know they can get Levi a couple picks later. This is the same reason why the Lions are looking to trade down; they want Gaines Adams, but don't want to pay him number 2 money.

and another article in this same article claiming the cards are trying to trade up to #2. good source lol (not bashing you) just funny source.

Couldn't agree more. Build a great offensive line and we will be in business.

Great defense, Tough running offense and efficient passing game. That's the formula to the playoffs. Thomas will fit in perfectly on the left side. Then go get Ryan Khalil in the 2nd, bump Hadnot to left guard and that's a nice Oline.

Thomas Hadnot Khalil Shelton Carey

Yikes.

I would be shocked if Thomas weren't drafted by the Cards at 5, if he's available. That would be worthy of one of those Mel Kiper meltdown moments that he used to save for the Jets way back when. Come to think of it, that might be fun to watch.

I think the point was so a team who DOES need a QB can't trade up with them and take Quinn before us.

I still personally don't see a team that needs a QB trading up with Arizona though, as anyone else who needs a QB after us is either way too far back to trade up that much without "giving up the farm", or they are teams that COULD use a QB if a talent fell, but have other, more important needs first so wouldn't trade up to snag Quinn. By that logic I'd still just trade with Washington (if Quinn goes past Cleveland) and give them out 3rd, that way we would get Quinn in the 1st and still have two 2nds to nab a quality WR and OL to help him out.
