how is kevin kolb a "franchise qb" ?? i never understood why people think that....he is no better than Chad Henne in what he has done so far. Look at his numbers on a good Eagles team and now hes going to be playing for the Cardinals.

When did I say they haven't? We're ****ed for the next few years with passing on Ryan until we have a shot at a real QB (not Kolb). Still, I think we're doing good right now with what we've got.

Doubt that. They just haven't seen one they feel is worth giving up a lot and making them "their guy". Only guy besides Ryan that I wanted us to go after is Mallett. Just because they aren't selling the farm for guys with less than average track records it doesn't mean they "don't place a high value on QB's."

Do you go out and talk to every single you meet and try to wife her up? No.. you wait for the right one to come around, go after her all you can, wife her, and then enjoy her for 10-12 years until she gets too old.

The thing that i think set us back a bit was getting Chad Pennington. I feel like they felt Pennington would be the starter and give Henne time to develop and sit under him. Then Pennington got hurt and Henne took over. When Henne took over for Pennington he showed some flashes of good stuff, some bad but it looked like he had some potential. Then he got named the starter last year and they had Pennington as a backup. We all saw Henne do a poor job. I thought they were gonna draft a QB this year to be honest.

Then instead of trying to get a real QB they draft a 6'0 190lb spread offense wildcat gimmick QB in round 2 the next year. This is what they really f'd up on. The Pat White pick was a total mistake...there is no way to justify that pick.

So now that Pennington is no longer around they are stuck with Henne, for at least one more year.

I really felt like the coaches and FO thought Pennington was gonna be their QB at first. Then last year when Henne was named the starting QB in the preseason they felt like they had Penny to fall back on if Henne didnt wind up being any good. Too bad Pennington is made of glass.

Now if Henne sucks this year you can bet your *** they are drafting a QB in the first round next April.

Just reading on rotoworld that the cards are in negotiations with Braylon Edwards, all I gotta say is that's how a front-office is supposed to work, go get your franchise QB, go get another real good receiver to pair with your stud #1 in Fitzgerald, be aggressive, that's something unfortunately this front office knows nothing about, but hey at least we got Matt Moore!

Seriously??? If this regime had given that much up for a BACKUP QB with less than 10 starts that has more INTs than TDs I would have personally flown to Davie and smacked them upside the head.

Instead, Ireland should get props for NOT considering trading away the farm for AJ Feeley 2.0 , and NOT allowing Denver to back up the Brink$ Truck in exchange for a journeyman QB who went 10-17 in the last 2 years, in Denver is referred to as the "3 and out Orton" version of "check down Chad" and who 90% of the fans don't want back - let alone apparently every other team but the Fins.

Bottom Line: All this pizzing and moaning about what Ireland has NOT done should also include props for some of his non-moves too. As someone said, if the jest didn't want Edwards back, that speaks louder than any verbiage on any forum, and maybe Ireland not pursuing him will be yet another feather in his cap too?
