Care to watch Fiedler?

All Fiedler does is win? I'm sure if that was true, he'd have a few rings.

I also am sure we'd release him if he always won. I mean, it isn't like our Front Office knows anything about football. :french:

 I agree!!! Although, it will be fun watching him throw INT's for the Jets

Hopefully his little feat and big ears will never get the chance.

I will never understand some people on this board. You get some of the most insightful, intelligent commentary and then this. The guy played his *** off for us for years and was a class act throughout. He came in after a legend and never complained about unfair expectations or the constant harrassment from fans. I was one of the many who wanted him replaced but why insult him now? Did he trash Miami? I just don't get it.

I AGREE

FYI - I watched some of the Jets camp last night and he threw a perfect DEEP corner route to some Rookie who managed to drop it.

The system was the problem, not Fielder. He laid it on the line for the team, even if he's not the most talented guy out there. You should respect that even if he doesn't have a strong arm.

What don't you get? Yes, he playeed his A** off, never complained, yada yada, but the guy just plain flat out SUCKED! Whenever he was needed to make a play to win a big game (NE x2) he never came through. Always an overthrow, or fumble, or INT... The only time he won games was when the D was playing its best and the RB had over 150 yards rushing - actually, even then he STILL lost some games. What I don't get is how some fans actually miss all that.... I don't hate Jay, I just hate untalented, INT throwing, noodle armed QB's playing for my team.

He ran for a couple of touchdowns at key times. Fiedler won a whole bunch of games. I'd call him an under-talented over-achiever, kind of in the mold of Steve Walsh.

So you like Jay as a "person"

One that I remember. Plus he was the main reason Miami had to come back in that game. Man did that guy suck.

I think YOU miss the point. He played for the most conservative system ever. Wanny liked to play the game close and win/lose in the 4th because he liked to lean on his defense and a bruising RB to close it out. That works great when you're ahead. He's a defensive coodinator posing as a head coach. By relying on defense and running it on 1st and 2nd down every time and leaving Fiedler out to dry on 3rd and 8 all day, or with points to make up in the 4th quarter after only throwing it 13 times total until then...what would ANY cold QB with a non-Favre arm do? The same thing.

To add to that last post - we lost more games by playing defensively and letting teams come back than Fiedler every lost, probably 2 or 3 fold. How many times has Crebet or Brady or Bledsoe killed us in the 4th when we've had a lead because Wanny wanted to run-run-incomplete-punt his way to victory? What kind of coach never goes for the kill? What kind of coach runs his RB into the ground so he's not fresh for the playoffs the first two years you acquire the player after trading the farm for him? How much time do you lean on a defense for game after game? Did you get mad at Madison or Surtain or Marion for getting burned deep late in a game when they've been on the field the entire 4th quarter?

I understand what you're saying and you certainly make a good point, but even if he played for the Rams, I still don't see him doing anything other than throwing INT's. Guess we'll just agree to disagree.

i cant believe fiedler is gonna start for them, that is going to be ALOT OF FUN TO WATCH!!

Sorry to get so heated, I'm a passionate fan and try to stay loyal to guys that wear their hearts on their sleeves. I agree with you about his lack of talent, but the same could be said for Montana, although Montana was pretty damn accurate (as you need to be in a west coast O).
It will be hard to cheer him on though on the Jets...and if he lines up against the Fins...DIE M*THERF*CKER!!!! KILL DUMBO!!!!

I'd call him a sack of dump, kind of in the mold of a turd that won't flush.

Well, don't watch because Fiedler is not starting for the New York Jets.
