Ask him who is wearing No. 24 on the Miami Dolphins this year and Isa Abdul-Quddus smiles because he wore that number last year and knows it won’t be assigned to anyone, even after he was cut from the team in March.

“Nobody has it,” Abdul-Quddus says. “I feel it’s an honor that they appreciate me so much they won’t give my number away. It shows they care about me.”

Ask Abdul-Quddus who has taken his stall in a crowded locker room that is overrun with so many players that rookies are sharing space and, again, a tangible satisfaction shows in his answer .

“Nobody,” the former Dolphins safety says. “I was sitting in there a couple of minutes ago, actually. It’s still my locker. That shows how great the people are here.”

Good article IMO...

Was so frustrated when I heard about his injury. We finally solidify the safety's with guys I have confidence in, and then Quddus goes down. I miss his presence on the field but hopefully we have those spots field

A little thing like respect goes a long way. It's refreshing to see this team treat IAQ like he was on the team for a decade and not just a season.

Clearly he sees himself as a Dolphin still if he's hanging around the team. He sounds smart enough that I'm sure he's made sound monetary decisions and won't be hard pressed for cash. This is the kind of guy you hire to work with team in some capacity. It was short lived but he for a brief period he was the answer at FS we were looking for.

Good player who could have been a long term partner for Jones.

The way his career ended is extremely sad. Clasay move from the team

2 solid players for their roles with the dolphins have had to call it quits in the last year or less and guys in their primes even. It's a damn good thing neither was mission critical.

man I'm glad the organization is letting him be around. hopefully he can earn away to be apart of the organization some how. we sure missed him after he went down. feel for the guy.

I am not a very emotional guy but I was really moved by the article. The coaching staff deserves to be commended for welcoming Isa's presence in the locker room and around the team. It is a classy gesture and it wouldn't go unnoticed by the other players. I don't know if it's Gase or Burke or maybe Tannenbaum, but it definitely sends the right message that the team cares about him.
Good luck to Isa for the future. He sounds remarkably well adjusted mentally to accept the situation and move forward in life.
