Of the Phins that started their careers in Miami, who do you think will retire as a Dolphin with out spending any time on another team (Zach, Jason, Chris, Randy, etc.)

Personally, I think ZT and JT are the only players that will remain a Phin until the end. What do you think?

Saban is going to make each decision on players based on what will benefit the team. I'm sure that if someone offered a 4th for Zach he'd tell them to pound sand; but say someone offered a 1st? Not that it's likely, but Saban would consider it carefully, weight the benefit of keeping Zach against that of gaining a 1st-round pick, and make his decision based on value. That's just one example.

So, if you follow that model to its many possibilities, there's no predicting who might retire a Dolphin and who might finish his career elsewhere. It's a fruitless exercise.

I agree, not even Nostradamus could truly predict the future... so how can I, a mere Dolphin fan think for a second that I would have the power to see into the future and witness who may or may not retire as Dolphins???

Let me ask the question again with slightly different wording, plant a new seed, if you will... maybe this seed will develop into a more fruitful exercise.

Who would you like to see retire as a Dolphin?

:D JT and Zach, obviously; in a perfect world Sam Madison too, but that's looking more and more unlikely.

Oh, and I'd be very pleased if Seth Mckinney and Wade Smith retired as Dolphins...right now. Today. Never to return.

Oh yeahhhh...

Oh, and I forgot: as a sentimental fan, I'd like for Pat Surtain to come back for a final year when he's close to retirement, so he can retire a Phin too.

It's only right.

Excluding quality QBs, the days of a player being drafted and remaining with the same team are very slim. Unless of course the player just falls in love with the team, restructures and chooses to remain with the team provided health and talent remain servicible.

One thing I got from Sabans book is he will not be strapped by players or assistant coaches $ demands. If they excell to the point that their value exceeds their value to the team. He encourages them to move on, with no regrets. He understands the business end. That is why he has so many assistants and stresses multi-talented players. He truly believes in Plug and Play and the fine art of coaching and teaching players up in order to manage salary cap issues.

Kinda like the mouth of a "Pit Viper". When one of the main fangs becomes broken, there are dozens waiting right behind it ready to spring forward to deliver its deadly venom.

i woudl have to add Olindo Mare, if he gets cut i dont think he would get another job

When I think of Pat Surtain I ALWAYS think about that damn AJ Feeley move, which pissed me off from day 1. Only cause 3rd string QBs can be found in the 7th round no problem. But AJ ****in Feeley is the reason we had to lose Surtain to get a 2nd round pick again. Damn you AJ, Dave, and Rick and the Eagles organization for tricking Dave and Rick. Stupid mother****ers.

Please come back Pat

The Cowboys went through 3 kickers this year. Mare would certainly land with someone quickly. He's not the best in the league, but he's in the upper half for sure.
