Carey to have knee surgery

I'm on my phone so I can't copy the link but profootballtalk said Vernon Carey will have knee surgery. Apparently the injury has "hampered him all season long".

I'm relieved. I was a bit worried we may have made a mistake in resigning Carey. Hopeful the surgery goes great and he will be back to being a dominat right tackle for this team.

If he has the surgery this week he will have plenty of time to heal before mini camps in June.

The Dolphins have not detailed the severity, but it's likely just a routine scope. Though Carey merited Pro Bowl consideration this season, his play had slipped of late with the nagging knee and back injuries.
