This scenario is a little bit more realistic than we think as pro football has already reported. This is all assuming that Ross cleans house and gets rid of both Ireland and Sparano.

Carl Peterson-Vice President of football operations-
Carl Peterson is hired as VP of football operations and fills the role that was left void by Bill Parcells. The first call he makes is to Bill Cowher and convinces him to become head coach. Peterson hired Cowher to be the Defensive Coordinator for the Chiefs in 1989, they have a good relationship and it was reported by both peter king and mortenson that Peterson is the one who contacted Cowher last year about potentially coaching the Dolphins, Cowher had interest but would not discuss anything until Sparano was fired. We all know that Cowher has a list of 3 teams he would coach, the giants, texans ,and dolphins.Peterson then smooths over any concerns Cowher might have about the dysfunction from last year with the courting of Harbough and he ensures him Ross is serious about turning this organization around, he also gives Cowher full control of personnel, but both will work together to find a GM.

Bill Cowher-Head Coach- Bill Cowher becomes the head coach of the Miami Dolphins and signs an $8 million dollar deal. He has been in back and forth contact with Kevin Colbert and Omar Khan about coming back and coaching, he then selects Colbert to come down to Miami and be is GM. This makes sense in more ways than one, cowher and colbert worked together in Pitt and Colbert was an advanced scout for the Phins so he has some familiarity with this organization. Colbert comes on as GM and agrees to work hand and hand with Cowher in the draft process, and Free Agency, both work together on personnel decisions.

Kevin Colbert-General Manager- Colbert comes on board as the General Manager in an organization that he has already worked for so its not a big transition, him and cowher start to go over the roster and make personnel decisions while preparing for the NFL draft, #1 goal: find a franchise QB!

Andrew Luck-Franchise Quarterback- The Dolphins get the first overall pick in the 2012 NFL Draft and select Andrew Luck out of Stanford, they now have their franchise qb for the next 10-13 years.

one can only dream! as terrible this season looks and is. at least there's a light at the end of this long a** tunnel.
hopefully this nightmare will be over and our once proud team can become relevant again.

Colbert is not leaving Pit IMO.

Omar Kahn could be had though.

I stated earlier in a thread something similar to this. Very plausible.

Peterson's presence, whether it is in a front office position or just as a guiding voice, make the chances of Cowher coming here go up. Peterson as the president of football operations could work.

Colbert is indeed a possibility, it was reported by mortenson and king last year, they both said wherever cowher goes he will pluck some guys from pitt most likely colbert and pft reported in their article that colbert is an option.

This is somewhat plausible. Some people are speculating that Peterson will be GM. I highly doubt it! That would have been done much sooner, shortly after Parcells split.

The fact that this is actually possible and not some homer rant makes me very happy. If I know this is the future, it makes the dog crap out on the field right now a little more tollerable.

Khan is much more likely than Colbert. Kevin Colbert now has the title of GM in Pittsburgh. This is the first time they have ever named a GM. So, it is going to be hard to prove that Miami's job would be a promotion for him.

Think everything is dandy about this except for the Dolphins getting the #1 pick and/or Luck. Getting Luck would make the Peterson/Cowher/Colbert trio's life much easier, but they'd actually be put to the test if the Phins don't get Luck, which I doubt they will.

As Mad Dog Jim would say...this makes my toes tingle!!
My Prayer..Please Dolphin angel Jim, if you are up there and have some control...make it happen
